September 11, 2018 Night

Good evening! A few rain showers and 67 degrees in Delmar. β˜” Calm wind. The dew point is 62 degrees. The skies will clear Thursday around 1 pm. The crickets are happy tonight with the rain stopping and the warm temperatures.

Got my truck cleaned and repacked and ready to go for heading out of town again for work, should be a busy next few days at work. β›ΊI’m thinking about if Thursday is a later night at work I might just end up heading out to state forest for a quick overnight in the wilderness, 🌃rather than drive home in the dark although I do have to be in Albany on Friday probably by mid day for work. I brought pads and sleeping bag, but if I do camp I plan to do it lightly. Even if I get to bed late, and rise early at dawn it might beat those two hours driving home in the dark. 🔦

Tonight will have isolated showers. Patchy fog between 2am and 3am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy ☁, with a low of 64 degrees at 6am. 11 degrees above normal. Maximum dew point of 64 at 3am. The Harvest Moon 🌝 is on Sunday, September 23rd. The sun will rise at 6:31 am with the first light at 6:03 am, which is one minute and 3 seconds later than yesterday. The mornings lately, especially with the clouds are much darker than in recent weeks. 🌄 Tonight will have 11 hours and 21 minutes of darkness, an increase of 2 minutes and 50 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will have isolated showers, then scattered showers and thunderstorms after noon. Patchy fog between 7am and 9am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy β›…, with a high of 75 degrees at 2pm. One degree above normal. Maximum dew point of 67 at 4pm. North wind 3 to 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies. The high last year was 81 degrees. The record high of 94 was set in 1947.

I thought today was a productive day at work, and things went well being back in the big city for a day. 🏢 I love the open country, seeing all the farms and traveling about but there is something so nice about living in the city and being able to catch a bus to work. Maybe eventually I will decide the way to go is to buy land and off grid cabin in a low tax high freedom state but continue to work in the city where I rent a cheap apartment and take public transit to work daily. The best of both worlds. I just wish I lived closer to Pennsylvania or maybe something out west.

But first my goal is to do a good job every day at work, 💼so I can continue to get premoted, invest and save, get closer to the point of having the resources to live the life I really want to live. 📰 I try to take life one step at a time, carefully observing and working hard.

It looks like most likely we will have a system that blocks the storm and great weather this weekend. 😎 Saturday, partly sunny, with a high near 82. Maximum dew point of 67 at 1pm. Sunday, mostly sunny, with a high near 84. Maximum dew point of 67 at 1pm. Typical average high for the weekend is 73 degrees. This weekend instead will feel more like summer than autumn for sure.

I’m toying with heading up to the Adirondacks outside of Wells this weekend. Or maybe Schoharie – I have many good options. 🌲 I’d like one more week in the wilderness before I’m committed to work through early November. 🍂 I definitely enjoy those nice nights in the wilderness.

I took Big Red out for a test drive and haven’t noticed any noises or strange behaviors. 🚗 It just struck me as weird the way it looked while parked this morning with the wheels slightly turned, almost like something was wrong. But maybe it just was the way it was parked on the uneven pavement and the wheels not turned straight. I don’t anticipate any problems with the truck at this time. I always need something to worry about in my life.

In four weeks on October 9 the sun will be setting at 6:22 pm,🌄 which is 49 minutes and 15 seconds earlier then tonight. In 2017 on that day, we had rain, drizzle, mist, cloudy skies and temperatures between 76 and 62 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 63 and 42 degrees. The record high of 83 degrees was set back in 1949.
