Still kind of cold โ„ this morning but I guess it’s an improvement from what it was yesterday. Still with that breeze it’s an improvement from what it was yesterday. I’ve turned down the heat, closed the cabinets under the sink and aren’t wearing a full face mask or gloves ๐Ÿงค for the morning walk ๐Ÿšถ which I delayed for a bit.

Today will be partly sunny ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 41 degrees at 3pm. Seven degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around March 3rd. South wind 10 to 14 mph. A year ago, we had light snow in the morning with some clearing in the afternoon. The high last year was 38 degrees. The record high of 59 was set in 1890. 10.4 inches of snow fell back in 2014.โ„

Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 12:10 pm with sun having an altitude of 31.4ยฐ from the due south horizon (-39.4ยฐ vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 9.8 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 4:33 pm with the sun in the west-southwest (242ยฐ). ๐Ÿ“ธ The sunset is in the west-southwest (249ยฐ) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 5:14 pm after setting for 3 minutes and 6 seconds with dusk around 5:43 pm, which is one minute and 18 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ At dusk you’ll see the Waining Gibbous ๐ŸŒ– Moon in the east-northeast (69ยฐ) at an altitude of 6ยฐ from the horizon, 251,699 miles away. ๐Ÿš€ The best time to look at the stars is after 6:17 pm. At sunset, look for partly cloudy skies ๐ŸŒƒ and temperatures around 39 degrees. There will be a south breeze at 9 mph. Today will have 10 hours and 11 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 27 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will be mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒฅ, with a low of 30 degrees at 5am. 14 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around March 27th. South wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light after midnight. In 2022, we had cloudy skies in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 12 degrees. Tree on Recently Burnt Hillside

February 4, 2023 Morning

Good morning! Happy Saturday. Why so negative? โ„๏ธ I mean it’s a beautiful day, just cold as shit. I think it was about negative eleven when I woke up, but it’s warming up fast I tell myself. My bedroom was only 45 degrees at six o’clock when I awoke though I didn’t notice it at all until I actually looked the thermometer in my bedroom. ๐Ÿ› I am just used to the cold, after all this winter camping and because I keep my heat low as I like to keep my heating bills down. I left the cabinets open under the sink, and there were no issues with frozen pipes, though the water was cold coming out of the sink for a few seconds before hot water arrive from the hot water heater. I have to admit I probably let the water run more washing dishes then I should have ๐Ÿฝ but the warm water was nice. Probably won’t take a shower ๐Ÿ›€ until tomorrow, just because I’m not going anywhere, and it would be cold getting out of the shower.

Sunny and -9 degrees in Delmar. ๐ŸŒž There is a northwest breeze at 9 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. The current wind chill is -26. There are 2 inches of snow on the ground. โ˜ƒ ๏ธThings will start to thaw out at tomorrow around 10 am. ๐ŸŒก๏ธ I am waiting a little bit on my morning walk, until it’s at least zero degrees on and I can put on the face mask, gloves and thermal underwear. I don’t think it’s as windy as they say from looking at the trees, though there was some good good gusts for a while yesterday. Going to be in the 40s tomorrow, and most of the week.

Things warmed up quickly though inside โ™จ๏ธ when I turned on the portable electric space heater. Technically my bedroom has baseboard electric heat to supplement that gas radiators downstairs, but I never use them. They smell so bad until the dust burns off, are expensive to run, and don’t put the heat right where I want it like a little electric space heater. Electric heat is much quicker then gas for sure, especially with the 220 volt 40 amp circuits or whatever they are. Maybe I could make it even warmer in here, but I don’t want to pay for the heat in this cold weather. I did patch up more air leaks around the door, it seems pretty good now. What can I say, it’s an inexpensive, run down apartment.

Today will be mostly sunny ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 15 degrees at 3pm. 19 degrees below normal. Maximum wind chill around -26 at 8am; Northwest wind 7 to 10 mph becoming south in the afternoon. A year ago, we had partly cloudy skies in the morning with sunny skies in the afternoon. The high last year was 37 degrees. The record high of 61 was set in 1991. 15.5 inches of snow fell back in 1926.โ„

Until it warms up, ๐Ÿค– I am working on some maps and data analysis using my laptop. Already the wind is slowing, so I am hopeful to get out in a bit. But I have some interesting ideas of maps and data I can extract. I noticed that NYSUT has posted electronic spreadsheet versions of the school aid runs, ๐Ÿค– so I can use it to make maps. Also, I want to do some things with sunset and length of day and make some interesting maps. But I am hoping it will be warm enough, I won’t be spending all day inside. That would be a bummer for a Saturday. But it’s so cold right now.

While my plans aren’t set in stone, ๐ŸฅŒ I am leaning towards a hike out to Five Rivers today, ๐Ÿฆ assuming it gets warmer, the wind remains calm and I can bundle up. I want to get my steps in. I did go to library last night to work on some projects for a while, and I don’t like going there on the weekends when it’s crowded, but I’ll see how cold it is later on. Maybe at least I can go for a walk ๐Ÿšถ‍โ™€๏ธ around the superblock, and get 2 1/2 miles if I wear gloves ๐Ÿงค and my full-face mask. ๐Ÿซ  Maybe Meads Road, I like seeing the farm country and cows at that way. ๐Ÿƒ

Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 12:10 pm with sun having an altitude of 31.1° from the due south horizon (-39.7° vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 9.9 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 4:32 pm with the sun in the west-southwest (242°). ๐Ÿ“ธ

The sunset is in the west-southwest (249°) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 5:13 pm after setting for 3 minutes and 7 seconds with dusk around 5:42 pm, which is one minute and 18 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ At dusk you’ll see the Full ๐ŸŒ Moon in the east-northeast (73°) at an altitude of 16° from the horizon, 252,240 miles away. ๐Ÿš€ The best time to look at the stars is after 6:16 pm. At sunset, look for partly cloudy skies ๐ŸŒƒ and temperatures around 15 degrees. There will be a south-southeast breeze at 7 mph. Today will have 10 hours and 9 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 25 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will be mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒฅ, with a low of 13 degrees at 9pm. Three degrees below normal. But a warm up! Maximum wind chill around 4 at 6pm; South wind 7 to 13 mph. Cold but not nearly as cold as this morning. And warming up throughout the night. In 2022, we had mostly clear skies in the evening, which became light snow by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 17 degrees. The record low of -15 occurred back in 1918.

Looking ahead, next Saturday is Don’t Cry over Spilled Milk Day ๐Ÿฅ› when the sun will be setting at 5:23 pm with dusk at 5:50 pm. On that day in 2022, we had partly cloudy, snow showers and temperatures between 26 and 12 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 35 degrees. That will feel like a heat wave compared today, though the 8-14 day outlook looks even warmer then average. We hit a record high of 59 back in 1981.

Evening Rays Over Center Square

February 3, 2023 Morning

Good morning! Yeah, it’s a Frigid Friday! Mostly because that’s all the radio news wants to talk about. Dress in layers, avoid exposed skin and you’ll be fine. Mostly sunny and 10 degrees in Delmar, NY. โ˜€ Breezy, ๏ธ20 mph breeze from the northwest ๐ŸŒฌ with gusts up to 32 mph ๐Ÿ’จ๐Ÿ’จ๐Ÿ’จ. The current wind chill is -9. There are 2 inches of snow on the ground. โ˜ƒ ๏ธThings will start to thaw out at Sunday around 11 am. ๐ŸŒก๏ธ

Bye, bye America Pie. ๐Ÿฅง Do you recall what was revealed the day the music died? ๐ŸŽถ That was 64 years ago today, which means there are fewer and fewer people can remember that day. But it’s still a good song by Don McLean. It’s a song that one can sing along with and it opened up the then new Empire State Plaza during the bicentennial. It’s amazing to think America ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ turns 250 in 2026.

Okay, it’s winter. โ„ But I left the heat turned up so it was plenty warm inside. Too warm for my tastes but along with leaving the cabinets open I wanted to prevent the pipes from freezing. Come Sunday I’ll back the heat down to 48 degrees. I have gas heat so it’s not really expensive but I’ve grown to like the cold. Skipped my morning walk ๐Ÿšถ in favor of taking the time earlier express bus ๐Ÿš and walking laps in the Concourse. I’m going to try to get as many steps as possible inside the Concourse today.

Today will be mostly sunny, with a temperature fallivng to around 3 by 5pm. โ˜€ Breezy, with a northwest wind 20 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 43 mph. A year ago, we had light snow. The high last year was 30 degrees. The record high of 57 was set in 2016. 6.1 inches of snow fell back in 2004.โ„

Yesterday I did 17,000 steps as I visited a friend at the hospital ๐Ÿฅ midday. It’s different now with the COVID, you get screened before entering and are given a paper muzzle. I’ve never worn a paper muzzle ๐Ÿ˜ท only a cloth one though I stuck it under my cloth one.

Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 12:10 pm with sun having an altitude of 30.8ยฐ from the due south horizon (-40ยฐ vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 10.1 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 4:30 pm with the sun in the west-southwest (241ยฐ). ๐Ÿ“ธ The sunset is in the west-southwest (248ยฐ) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 5:11 pm after setting for 3 minutes and 8 seconds with dusk around 5:40 pm, which is one minute and 19 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ At dusk you’ll see the Full ๐ŸŒ Moon in the east-northeast (77ยฐ) at an altitude of 26ยฐ from the horizon, 252,110 miles away. ๐Ÿš€ The best time to look at the stars is after 6:15 pm.

At sunset, look for partly cloudy skies ๐ŸŒƒ and temperatures around 3 degrees. The wind chill around sunset will be -20. โ˜ƒ๏ธ Breezy, 25 mph breeze โ›… from the west-northwest with gusts up to 44mph. Today will have 10 hours and 6 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 24 seconds over yesterday.

What can I say, it’s going to brutally cold โ„ this evening. I might actually take up the express bus ๐Ÿš drivers option to get dropped off closer to home. And I might not do the evening walk ๐Ÿšถ though I am thinking about walking ๐Ÿ“š down to the library for a while. That said, so much of it is hype because people aren’t used to the cold. It would be a warm day in Wisconsin.

Tonight will be partly cloudy ๐ŸŒค, with a low of -10 degrees at 4am. 25 degrees below normal. Maximum wind chill around -32 at 1am; Blustery, with a northwest wind 17 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 43 mph. In 2022, we had partly cloudy skies. It got down to 15 degrees. The record low of -13 occurred back in 1978.

I checked the voltage and my truck starting battery ๐Ÿ”‹ is happy with the cold. โ˜บ The solar panel is dumping the excess voltage into the starting battery. When it’s very cold out, it’s almost always sunny out and the trickle charge keeps things floating along at a nice voltage โšก.

Tomorrow will have increasing clouds โ˜, with a high of 13 degrees at 3pm. 21 degrees below normal. Maximum wind chill around -31 at 6am; Northwest wind 6 to 15 mph becoming south in the afternoon. A year ago, we had light snow. The high last year was 37 degrees. The record high of 61 was set in 1991. 15.5 inches of snow fell back in 1926.โ„

I was planning on going to John’s house for Saturday and maybe a very frigid hike in the Pine Bush ๐ŸŒฒbut plans change. I might stay home and brave a hike out to Five Rivers. ๐Ÿฆ With the full face mask, gloves ๐Ÿงค and maybe thermal underwear I should be good. Or so I tell myself.

Looking ahead to Sunday, mostly cloudy, with a high near 43. โ˜€ South wind 13 to 16 mph. The cold will have broken but it will be still cold with the wind. Still I plan to wash Big Red ๐Ÿ›ป in the evening after seeing the folks. Turning the heat way back down though. Typical average high for the weekend is 34 degrees.

Looking ahead, next Friday is Clean Your Computer Day ๐Ÿงน when the sun will be setting at 5:21 pm with dusk at 5:49 pm. On that day in 2022, we had partly cloudy, snow showers and temperatures between 25 and 12 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 35 degrees. We hit a record high of 53 back in 1955.

Skiing in God's Country

February 2, 2023 8 AM Update

Good morning! Happy Ground Hog Day. ๐Ÿป He didn’t see his shadow, six more weeks of winter. Though maybe NOAA does not agree ๐Ÿ‘Ž as they’re talking about the upper forties and maybe even fifty come mid next week. But tomorrow in the mean time will be cold. โ„ Didn’t turn the heat down today before work and will turn it up a bit and leave the cabinets under the sink before bed ๐Ÿ›.

Partly sunny and 18 degrees in Delmar, NY. โ˜€ There is a south breeze at 6 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. There are 2 inches of snow on the ground. โ˜ƒ ๏ธThings will start to thaw out at around noontime. ๐ŸŒก๏ธ

After a fairly cold start for the morning walk ๐Ÿšถ it is warming up slowly but surely. But that certainly won’t be the case come Friday. I plan to walk tomorrow but maybe not in the evening if it’s too cold. Might instead try to maximize my lunch time walk inside at the State Museum.

Today will be sunny ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 36 degrees at 2pm. Three degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around February 14th. South wind 6 to 10 mph. A year ago, we had light snow. Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 12:10 pm with sun having an altitude of 30.5ยฐ from the due south horizon (-40.3ยฐ vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 10.2 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 4:29 pm with the sun in the west-southwest (241ยฐ). ๐Ÿ“ธ The sunset is in the west-southwest (248ยฐ) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 5:10 pm after setting for 3 minutes and 9 seconds with dusk around 5:39 pm, which is one minute and 19 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡

Tonight will have a chance of snow showers, mainly between 11pm and 3am. Partly cloudy ๐ŸŒง, with a low of 7 degrees at 6am. Eight degrees below normal. Haven’t heard that phrase in a long time. Maximum wind chill around -6 at 6am; South wind 9 to 17 mph becoming northwest after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 31 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible. In 2022, we had light snow. It got down to 24 degrees. The record low of -18 occurred back in 1955.

Saturday cold and sunny, Sunday mild and cloudy. Worse of both worlds. ๐Ÿ˜• Saturday, mostly sunny, with a high near 16. West wind 7 to 15 mph. Going to call Mr. Wolcott to see if he will be around in the afternoon. Then maybe a maul walk with the muzzle on and toons playing to get in steps and experience the uoou. Sunday, mostly cloudy, with a high near 41. Sunday I think I’ll wash my truck after seeing the parents. Typical average high for the weekend is 34 degrees.

February 1, 2023 Evening

Good evening! Mostly clear and 23 degrees in Delmar, NY. There is a west breeze at 7 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. There are 2 inches of snow on the ground. โ˜ƒ ๏ธThings will start to thaw out at tomorrow around noontime. ๐ŸŒก๏ธ

Cold evening for the walk ๐Ÿšถ but actually pretty normal for winter but after the January that was it feels even colder but truth is that I’m just not used to it. But by next week things will be pushing 50 again. ๐Ÿข Ever since I stepped out of the office this evening it was so cold out, even though I feel comfortable inside as I turned on the space heater then the electric blanket.

Tonight will have increasing clouds โ˜, with a low of 17 degrees at 12am. Two degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around February 11th. Maximum wind chill around 15 at 8pm; West wind 5 to 7 mph becoming south after midnight. In 2022, we had snow in the evening, which became light snow by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 20 degrees. The record low of -18 occurred back in 1961.

I had a rough day ๐Ÿ˜• though I realize my problems are all inside my head. It’s a tough world out there, I have to do the best I can to navigate it and invest in my own future ๐Ÿ”ฎ and not take on other people’s problems. A lot of things are unfair and I often think I’m getting a raw deal ๐Ÿค but I have it a lot better off then many people.

I watched somebody run a stopped school ๐Ÿšธ bus this morning and then I found out that the state tightened who could free file this year, so I’m left studying my options for how to file my taxes. ๐Ÿ“‚ Maybe I’ll do paper ๐Ÿ“„. But it made me angry ๐Ÿ˜ก especially after hearing how state leaders want to expand benefits for migrants. I think our state should encourage immigration but people should be working and encouraged to open businesses. Taxed enough already, especially when I’ve worked so hard and the government is handing out freebies left and right.

I never understood the anger ๐Ÿ’ข of my dairy farming friend over government welfare benefits to the poor but when you work your ass off at 5 am, ๐Ÿฎ and pay a shit ton of taxes on your land, you can understand the anger. Farms pay remarkably high taxes in New York even after all the programs. I know the feeling.

Tonight will have a Waxing Gibbous ๐ŸŒ” Moon with 88% illuminated. At 7 PM, the moon was in the east-southeast (107°) at an altitude of 58° from the horizon, some 249,989 miles away from where you are looking up from the earth. ๐Ÿš€ At the state speed limit of 55 mph, you’ll make it there by August 10th. Buckle up for safety! ๐Ÿ’บ.

The Snow โ„ Moon is on Sunday, February 5. The darkest hour is at 12:10 am, followed by dawn at 6:41 am, and sun starting to rise at 7:11 am in the east-southeast (113°) and last for 3 minutes and 9 seconds. Sunrise is one minute and 2 seconds earlier than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ„ The golden hour ends at 7:52 am with sun in the east-southeast (120°). Tonight will have 13 hours and 56 minutes of darkness, a decrease of 2 minutes and 22 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will be partly sunny, then gradually becoming sunny ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 37 degrees at 4pm. Four degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around February 18th. South wind 6 to 11 mph. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies in the morning, remaining cloudy in the afternoon. The high last year was 27 degrees. The record high of 53 was set in 1981. 11.9 inches of snow fell back in 2015.โ„

The truth is I’m just bitter about the cold today. ๐ŸŒฌ๏ธ The sun was nice but it was just such a nasty reminder about winter. I really want to get away from the long cold winters of New York but everything just takes so much longer financially and on my life then I would hope. I keep saving for a better tomorrow but I always feel like I’m treading on thin ice, if not falling through the ice gasping ๐Ÿ˜ฒ for air. Somehow at age 40 I thought I would be farther along in life, be more financially secure and have my own land ๐Ÿšœ. I just work so hard, and it’s such a slap in the face. But I’ll keep pushing, as I understand the power of compounding.

In four weeks on March 1 the sun will be setting in the west (261°) at 5:45 pm,๐ŸŒ„ which is 36 minutes later then tonight. In 2021 on that day, we had mostly cloudy, snow showers and temperatures between 41 and 17 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 40 and 22 degrees. The record high of 66 degrees was set back in 2017.

Looking ahead, March ๐ŸŒจ is a month away, Ides of March โœ is in 6 weeks, April Fools Day ๐Ÿคก is in 2 months, May ๐Ÿ•Š is in 3 months, Average High is 70 ๐Ÿฎ is in 14 weeks, Pack Rat Day ๐Ÿ€ is in 15 weeks, 9 PM Dusk ๐ŸŒ† is in 4 months, June ๐Ÿน is in 4 months, Summer ๏ธโ›ฑ๏ธ is in 20 weeks, July ๐ŸŠ๐Ÿฟ is in 5 months, Hottest Time of the Year ๐Ÿ˜… is in 22 weeks, Dog Days of Summer ๐ŸŒป is in 22 weeks, August ๐ŸŒป is in 6 months, Average High Falls To 79 ๏ธDegrees โ›ฑ๏ธ๏ธ๏ธ is in 30 weeks, Average High 70 ๐ŸŽ‘ is in 7 months, September ๐ŸŽ is in 7 months, Labor Day Weekend Begins ๐Ÿ‘จ‍๐Ÿญ is in 7 months, More Night then Day ๐ŸŒŒ is in 34 weeks, October ๐ŸŽƒ is in 8 months, Last Sunset After 6:30 PM ๐ŸŒ† is in 35 weeks, Average High is 55 ๐Ÿ‚ is in 9 months, November ๐Ÿฅง is in 9 months, Day After Election Day ๐Ÿ›€ is in 40 weeks, December ๐ŸŽ„ is in 10 months and Saint Nicholas Day ๐ŸŽ… is in 44 weeks.

Irene Damage

February 1, 2023 Morning

Good morning! Happy February. We made it through January. โ„ Now the real cold weather is heading towards us though not for long.

Clear except that the south ๐ŸŒ… and 14 degrees for the morning walk ๐Ÿšถ in Delmar. That’s normal for this time of year but seems cold after the January that was. Calm wind. There are 2 inches of snow on the ground. โ˜ƒ ๏ธThings will start to thaw out at tomorrow around 11 am. ๐ŸŒก๏ธThen really cold on Friday night relatively speaking.

As February gets underway the mornings are brighter ๐Ÿ”† especially with the sun out like today. Needs to get a little brighter before I walk at 6:15 but I plan to change back to that time later in February. Early is nice as it’s calm and not a lot of traffic. Plus I generally prefer to walk ๐Ÿšถ before breakfast.

Today will be mostly sunny ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 29 degrees at 2pm. Four degrees below normal. Calm wind becoming northwest 5 to 9 mph in the morning. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies in the morning, remaining cloudy in the afternoon. The high last year was 25 degrees. The record high of 65 was set in 1989. 15.0 inches of snow fell back in 1898.โ„

Yesterday was a Tuesday. ๐Ÿคฏ I mean that’s mind blowing although that’s a pretty ordinary thing. Got home at six 6โƒฃ reheated half of the soup ๐Ÿฒ and went for the evening walk ๐Ÿšถ. I was surprised, made it home by 6 pm. Continuing to cut meals ๐Ÿด in half to save money and reduce calories and if I need a little extra I’ll add some veggies or fruit.

Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 12:10 pm with sun having an altitude of 30.2ยฐ from the due south horizon (-40.6ยฐ vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 10.3 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 4:27 pm with the sun in the west-southwest (240ยฐ). ๐Ÿ“ธ

The sunset is in the west-southwest (247ยฐ) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 5:09 pm after setting for 3 minutes and 9 seconds with dusk around 5:38 pm, which is one minute and 18 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ At dusk you’ll see the Waxing Gibbous ๐ŸŒ” Moon in the east (91ยฐ) at an altitude of 44ยฐ from the horizon, 249,894 miles away. ๐Ÿš€ The best time to look at the stars is after 6:12 pm. At sunset, look for partly clear skies ๐ŸŒ„ and temperatures around 26 degrees. There will be a west-northwest breeze at 8 mph. Tomorrow will have 10 hours and 4 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 23 seconds over today.

I was thinking wow, how fast the year is going. ๐Ÿ—“ I got my third paycheck on Monday and was studying the paystub and I was like wow already saved $2,500 towards retirement that means like a 1/10th of the year is done though that’s just an artifact of it being a werid three paycheck month. Oh, well. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Tonight will be partly cloudy ๐ŸŒค, with a low of 16 degrees at 6am. One degree above normal, which is similar to a typical night around February 5th. Maximum wind chill around 15 at 6pm; West wind 5 to 8 mph becoming south after midnight. In 2022, we had snow in the evening, which became light snow by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 20 degrees. The record low of -18 occurred back in 1961.

Cold come Saturday then warm come Sunday. ๐Ÿ˜• Saturday, sunny, with a high near 16. Blustery. Sunday, cloudy, with a high near 40. Typical average high for the weekend is 34 degrees. Get kind of everything this weekend.

One month ๐Ÿ“… from now will be March ๐ŸŒจ when the sun will be setting at 5:45 pm with dusk at 6:12 pm. The average high temperature is 40 degrees, with a record high of 65 in 1991.

Cold but sunny ??

January 31, 2023 Morning

Good morning! January is almost done. Tomorrow is February and then Friday it gets cold. But warm next week.

Tuesday. โš™ Put your foot on the clutch, let the engine slow slightly. Pull the shift lever down let your foot off the clutch and give it some gas. Do it what seems like a million times and it seems like a very natural process.

Maybe not the nicest morning ever for the walk ๐Ÿšถ, kind of gray and chilly though not as cold as it can be in the winter. But we are heading into February so that’s to be expected. The next few mornings will be clearer but colder. And what will the Ground Hog ๐Ÿป see on Thursday? Nose ๐Ÿ‘ƒ is running a bit in the cold and I had a bit of a headache yesterday but it was a Monday and I’m not a sick puppy ๐Ÿถ even if I’m a bit of a redneck and a pyro.

Pay day today ๐Ÿ’ต and I look rich for five minutes though I think my landlord and my brokerage firm is laughing ๐Ÿ˜‚ and I might have fifty cents ๐Ÿช™ after I pay down the IRS tax bill lol. One step closer to the future ๐Ÿ”ฎ I tell myself. I could live out in the country and pay even more in taxes. ๐Ÿ Property taxes are a bitch in New York State. a

Brushed the snow off Red ๐Ÿ›ป especially the solar panel so when the sun comes out it can keep the batteries topped off in the cold. With the solar, the truck often starts the best on cold sunny days โ˜€ as the battery is fully topped off. ๐Ÿ”‹ Then it’s just a matter of waiting for the lubrication of the engine to kick in after a second or two.

National Gird needs their pound of flesh and I need a odd grid cabin out in the country with a wood stove so I can stop paying the heat the earth’s climate.
