I went grocery shopping, ending up at Walmart. π I bought lots of groceries but forgot frozen corn π½. I really should just get fresh sweet corn and maybe something like tomatoes π . That would be a good treat. Sure not as easy as opening a bag but more flavorable. I was hungry and my freezer was bare but I should be good for a while. I also gased up Big Red β½ so his tank is good and full.
I think tomorrow I will get a fairly early start and hike the Harding Road Trail πΆ above Palenville and the Kaaterskill Clove. Probably start from White Road Equestrian lot just because it’s a bigger parking π Ώ area for my big truck and then hike up along the escarpment. Some good elevation gain and hopefully some nice views and less popular than other trails. π·

There’s just one abortion clinic left in North Dakota, and it’s in Fargo. But if you’re searching for a clinic around the state’s second-largest city, Google Maps won’t tell you about it.
Instead, searching Google Maps for “Where can I get an abortion in Bismarck, North Dakota?” will bring up results not only for a facility that doesn’t offer abortion but also for North Dakota Right to Life — an organization that lobbies to end abortion.
Mass shooters and mental illness
Are mass shooters mentally ill?
President Trump says yes, many in the mental health community say no.
Mental illness is commonly defined as an impairment that interferes with one’s ability to make decisions based on evidence. An obvious example is delusions of imaginary worlds that do not exist. A mentally ill person says that there is a monster in the closet but the average person can look in the closet and not see the monster.
But what about ideology? Strong views on an issue can cloud people’s perception of the facts. But what about a value system that values some evidence more than others? Are there bad values that a person can have? Mental health professionals generally try to avoid such topics because they don’t want to seen as picking sides in a political debate.
A person is generally viewed as not mentally ill if they take a course of action after analyzing the pros and cons of action. Even an action that could lead to certain death or a lifetime of incarceration might be worthwhile to a suicide bomber, who sees their death as a way to get to heaven. They may have fully understood the consequences of their actions and made a rational decision based on their ideology – and therefore are not mentally ill.
