May 19, 2021 Morning

Good morning! What day is it? Hump Day, of course. Pandemic is over, back to working downtown although I’d be all for working from next to Lake Pleasant ๐Ÿ—ป but that’s not to be. Next Wednesday is Flower Moon ๐ŸŒ• . Sunny and 61 degrees at the bus stop ๐Ÿš next to the Valero. ๐ŸŒž There is a north-northwest breeze at 5 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. The dew point is 50 degrees.

Today will be sunny ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 86 degrees at 4pm. 14 degrees above normal. Maximum dew point of 50 at 8am. North wind around 6 mph. About a perfect spring day without a drop of humidity. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies. The high last year was 70 degrees. The record high of 91 was set in 1989. There was a dusting of snow in 1976.โ„

There is the old saying, the more things change, the more they stay the same. ๐Ÿ‘จ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿ’ผ It seemed like for a while that everything changed but now is going back closer to normal. It was a fun year for sure and it will be nice to see my colleagues but working at a desk downtown isn’t like working next to Lake Pleasant. ๐Ÿ’ปAt least in the office I won’t have to watch the bandwidth constantly or worry about the state of charge of batteries. ๐Ÿ”‹

Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 12:53 pm with sun having an altitude of 67.2ยฐ from the due south horizon (-3.6ยฐ vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 2.5 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 7:35 pm with the sun in the west-northwest (292ยฐ). ๐Ÿ“ธ The sunset is in the west-northwest (299ยฐ) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 8:16 pm after setting for 3 minutes and 17 seconds with dusk around 8:47 pm, which is one minute later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ At dusk you’ll see the First Quarter ๐ŸŒ“ Moon in the southwest (215ยฐ) at an altitude of 58ยฐ from the horizon, 235,596 miles away. ๐Ÿš€ The best time to look at the stars is after 9:30 pm. At sunset, look for mostly clear skies ๐ŸŒ„ and temperatures around 76 degrees. The dew point will be 52 degrees. There will be a calm wind. Today will have 14 hours and 46 minutes of daytime, an increase of one minute and 54 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will be mostly clear ๐ŸŒƒ, with a low of 57 degrees at 5am. Seven degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around June 12th. Maximum dew point of 55 at 10pm. Calm wind. In 2020, we had cloudy skies in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 45 degrees. The record low of 29 occurred back in 2002.

Right now, a split verdict on the weekend. ๐Ÿ˜• Saturday, a chance of showers after 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 81. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Maximum dew point of 62 at 1pm. Sunday, a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 81. Chance of precipitation is 40%. Maximum dew point of 62 at 10am. Typical average high for the weekend is 73 degrees.

I am leaning towards staying in town this weekend. ๐Ÿก There is plenty of summer left and I’m waiting for hot weather and days down at the Potholers. ๐ŸŠ๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ I am so happy that Piseco-Powley Road is going to be open this summer and things will be back to normal.

As previously noted, next Wednesday is Flower Moon ๐ŸŒ• when the sun will be setting at 8:21 pm with dusk at 8:55 pm. On that day in 2020, we had hot weather which was mostly sunny and temperatures between 90 and 64 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 74 degrees. We hit a record high of 94 back in 2010.

Along the Channel

March 4, 2020 Morning

Good morning! Today the Happy Average High is 40 โ˜€๏ธ! Winter is fading away or so I tell myself. Four weeks to April Fools Day ๐Ÿคก. Cloudy and 41 degrees at the Valero. โ˜ Breezy, ๏ธ20 mph breeze from the west ๐ŸŒฌ with gusts up to 32 mph ๐Ÿ’จ๐Ÿ’จ๐Ÿ’จ. The wind is really flapping around the flag ๐Ÿšฉ at the gas station but it actually feels quite mild and spring like. Temperatures will drop below freezing at tomorrow around 2 am. โ˜ƒ๏ธ

My sinuses were really plugged up ๐Ÿ‘ƒ and I had a bit headache this morning but I’m feeling better now that I’m going to work. I highly doubt I have the Coronavirus but I’m sure at some point I’ll get it — it doesn’t sound like the end of the world for a healthier person like myself. ๐Ÿ˜ท Maybe not so great for the President or his leading competitors, they’re kind of elderly. But hopefully not when I’m on vacation or planning on heading out of town.

Today will have a chance of showers, mainly between 10am and 1pm. Mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒฆ, with a high of 49 degrees at 2pm. Nine degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around March 26th. Mild enough it will save on the heat. โ™จ Breezy, with a west wind 18 to 24 mph, with gusts as high as 44 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies. The high last year was 34 degrees. The record high of 59 was set in 1919. 8.3 inches of snow fell back in 1971.โ„

Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 12:08 pm with sun having an altitude of 41.2ยฐ from the due south horizon (-29.6ยฐ vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 6.9 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 5:12 pm with the sun in the west-southwest (256ยฐ). ๐Ÿ“ธ The sunset is in the west (263ยฐ) starting at 5:47 pm and lasts for 2 minutes and 55 seconds with dusk around 6:17 pm, which is one minute and 13 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ At dusk you’ll see the Waxing Gibbous ๐ŸŒ” Moon in the southeast (124ยฐ) at an altitude of 62ยฐ from the horizon, 236,140 miles away. ๐Ÿš€ The best time to look at the stars is after 6:50 pm. At sunset, look for possible rain showers ๐ŸŒง and temperatures around 44 degrees. Breezy, 16 mph breeze โ›… from the west with gusts up to 28mph. Today will have 11 hours and 24 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 53 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will have a slight chance of rain and snow showers before midnight, then a slight chance of snow showers between midnight and 2am. Mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒง, with a low of 30 degrees at 6am. Eight degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around March 27th. West wind around 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%. In 2019, we had clear skies in the evening, which became partly cloudy by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 7 degrees. The record low of -12 occurred back in 1948.

After work I’ll probably run to the store ๐Ÿฌ and wash my truck. ๐Ÿšฟ I think the roads are pretty salt free. I’ll also swing by Lowes to see if I can some screws to fix my waffle iron. ๐Ÿ”ฉ And I want to keep working on my blog code so hopefully I can get this launched this weekend and maybe go for an evening ๐ŸŒƒ walk.

Today in 1985, Food and Drug Administration approves a blood test for AIDS infection, used since then for screening all blood donations in the United States. ๐Ÿ†Ž In 1917, Jeannette Rankin of Montana becomes the first female member of the United States House of Representatives. ๐Ÿšบ And in 1957, S&P 500 stock market index is introduced, replacing the S&P 90. ๐Ÿ“Š

A picture perfect weekend on tap. ๐Ÿ˜Ž Saturday, mostly sunny, with a high near 37. Sunday, mostly sunny, with a high near 53. Typical average high for the weekend is 41 degrees.

This weekend I think I plan on staying in town and unpacking my truck cap and going through my camping gear, vacuuming outy truck. ๐Ÿšฟ I might also walk out to Five Rivers on Saturday morning then do Schodack Island in the afternoon, ๐Ÿšถ buy groceries at Aldi’s ๐Ÿ and then Sunday spend the bulk of the day hiking or skiing ๐ŸŽฟ maybe in the Catskills. ๐Ÿ—ป

๐ŸŒน๐ŸŒป๐ŸŒผOnly 15 days remain until the first day of calendar spring!๐ŸŒน๐ŸŒป๐ŸŒผ

Looking ahead, there are 4 weeks until April Fools Day ๐Ÿคก when the sun will be setting at 7:21 pm with dusk at 7:50 pm (Daylight Savings Time). The jokes on all New Yorkers that day ๐Ÿƒ when they awake to the news ๐Ÿ“ฐ of the state budget. Looking forward to April and doing more traveling once the snow is gone. โ›บ On that day in 2019, we had mostly sunny and temperatures between 42 and 26 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 52 degrees. We hit a record high of 77 back in 1986.

February 3, 2020 8 AM Update

Good morning! Monday’s come back around again. Iowa caucus day. I bet Bernie Sanders win Iowa but who knows. Next Monday is Clean Your Computer Day ๐Ÿงน. I bet in rural Iowa that involves fire and maybe a D5 bulldozer. ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐ŸŒพ Iowa rednecks are the best and they have some mad good dirt to show for it! ๐Ÿ’ฉ Light rain and 33 degrees at the Valero. โ›ˆ I know I wasn’t really expecting rain.ย  There is a west breeze at 7 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. There is a dusting of snow on the ground. โ˜ƒ Temperatures will drop below freezing at around 9 pm. โ˜ƒ๏ธ

Taking an all electric bus downtown. ๐Ÿš Honestly it’s not that different than any other bus although it seems a bit slower at kneeling and electric motor sounds a little different when spinning up and down. Little rougher over the potholes probably because the buses a lot heavier, especially on the roof line. Lacking gears and having strong regen on the hills the stop and go smoother. Do smell a bit of ozone being produced by the motors. โšก In a decade it will probably be so ordinary, like the hybrid buses hard to even note these days, except when they blow a lot of black smoke when the engines are malfunctioning.

Today will be partly sunny ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 45 degrees at 1pm. 13 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around March 17th. West wind 7 to 13 mph. A year ago, we had partly cloudy skies. The high last year was 45 degrees. The record high of 57 was set in 2016. 6.1 inches of snow fell back in 2004.โ„

Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 12:10 pm with sun having an altitude of 30.8ยฐ from the due south horizon (-40.1ยฐ vs. 6/21). The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 4:30 pm with the sun in the west-southwest (241ยฐ). ๐Ÿ“ธ The sunset is in the west-southwest (248ยฐ) starting at 5:08 pm and lasts for 3 minutes and 8 seconds with dusk around 5:40 pm, which is one minute and 19 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ At dusk you’ll see the Waxing Gibbous ๐ŸŒ” Moon in the southeast (129ยฐ) at an altitude of 58ยฐ from the horizon, 243,359 miles away. ๐Ÿš€ The best time to look at the stars is after 6:15 pm. At sunset, look for partly cloudy skies ๐ŸŒƒ and temperatures around 40 degrees. There will be a west breeze at 9 mph. Today will have 10 hours and 3 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 24 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will be mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒฅ, with a low of 29 degrees at 5am. 14 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around March 24th. West wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening. In 2019, we had cloudy skies in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 39 degrees. The record low of -13 occurred back in 1978.

While not perfect this weekend looks much better than recent. ๐Ÿ™‚ Saturday, partly sunny, with a high near 33. Sunday, a chance of rain and snow. Partly sunny, with a high near 37. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Typical average high for the weekend is 33 degrees.

I am a bit undecided on my weekend plans at this point, ๐Ÿ’ญ a lot depends on how much snow we get this week. I kind of want to go to the Johnstown Outdoors Show but if the weekend is really nice and only a small amount of snow I might go to Madison County and truck cap camp at the horse camp โ›บ. I could go to the Adirondacks if the snow banks aren’t too high but in that case it would certainly be snow tent camping dragging the tent and gear back in the woods.

๐ŸŒน๐ŸŒป๐ŸŒผOnly 45 days remain until the first day of calendar spring!๐ŸŒน๐ŸŒป๐ŸŒผ

As previously noted, next Monday is Clean Your Computer Day ๐Ÿงน when the sun will be setting at 5:20 pm with dusk at 5:49 pm. On that day in 2019, we had mostly cloudy, snow showers and temperatures between 33 and 17 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 33 degrees. We hit a record high of 53 back in 1955.

Helderberg Escarpment

January 27, 2020 Morning

Good morning! Monday’s come back around again. Gotta make that money ๐Ÿ’ต although not a pay week this week but I have great faith I’ll be paid next week. Two weeks to Clean Your Computer Day ๐Ÿงน. With there being so much hard drive space these days, does anybody really have to clean their computer? ๐Ÿ’ป

Snow flurries, cloudy, gray, damp and 36 degrees at the Valero just waiting for the bus to take me to work. โ„ Calm wind. There is a dusting of snow on the ground. โ˜ƒ Temperatures will drop below freezing at tomorrow around noontime. โ˜ƒ๏ธ

Catching the later bus ๐Ÿš to work because I never know with this busย and having to punch ๐Ÿ‘Š the clock ๐Ÿ•’ on time each morning. The truth is with manually filled in time cards you could get away with being a few minutes late and nobody would ever know. ๐Ÿ’ I did set my alarm for 6:30 but I reset it a few times. I’m bad I know and I had to iron my shirt ๐Ÿ‘š. But I did have a nice pan of eggs ๐Ÿณ for breakfast, one of the last of the fresh ones from my parents, as some kind of varmint finished off their chickens ๐Ÿ” and they don’t want to have chickens now as they’re planning on spending the summer traveling. ๐Ÿšข

Today will be scattered snow showers, mixing with rain after 9am, then gradually ending. Mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒง, with a high of 42 degrees at 2pm. 11 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around March 10th. Light and variable wind becoming west 9 to 14 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Little or no snow accumulation expected. A year ago, we had light snow in the morning, remaining cloudy in the afternoon. The high last year was 40 degrees. The record high of 62 was set in 1974. 9.3 inches of snow fell back in 1963.โ„

Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 12:09 pm with sun having an altitude of 28.8ยฐ from the due south horizon (-42ยฐ vs. 6/21). Gain is accelerating now. The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 4:20 pm with the sun in the west-southwest (238ยฐ). ๐Ÿ“ธ The sunset is in the west-southwest (245ยฐ) starting at 4:59 pm and lasts for 3 minutes and 12 seconds with dusk around 5:31 pm, which is one minute and 17 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ At dusk you’ll see the Waxing Crescent ๐ŸŒ’ Moon in the southwest (229ยฐ) at an altitude of 22ยฐ from the horizon, 251,502 miles away. ๐Ÿš€ The best time to look at the stars is after 6:06 pm. At sunset, look for mostly cloudy skies โ˜ and temperatures around 40 degrees. There will be a west-northwest breeze at 14 mph. Today will have 9 hours and 47 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 9 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will be mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒฅ, with a low of 29 degrees at 6am. 14 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around March 24th. Northwest wind 8 to 14 mph. Another kind of dreary weekend on tap but mild. โ˜ Saves on the heating bills. More chance to work on projects and ride the exercise bike ๐Ÿšฒ. Saturday, mostly cloudy, with a high near 40. Sunday, a chance of rain and snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 41. Chance of precipitation is 40%. Typical average high for the weekend is 32 degrees.

Looking Down Petersburgh Pass Into Massachussets

January 14, 2020 Morning

Good morning! Happy Foggy Tuesday in the Albany! 🌁 Four weeks to Don’t Cry over Spilled Milk Day 🥛. It’s important to strip the teats to prevent mastitis. That’s the problem with thinking 💭 in quarters. At any rate it, it’s a pretty foggy out there, a little over the freezing at the bus stop by Valero. Calm wind. But what will I know when I’m in my windowless office?

Today will have a slight chance of rain after 3pm. Partly sunny 🌞, with a high of 43 degrees at 2pm. 13 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around March 12th. I like March weather in January, especially the coldest week of the year. Going to be colder next week. Calm wind becoming south 5 to 8 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 20%. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies in the morning with some clearing in the afternoon. The high last year was 28 degrees. The record high of 66 was set in 1932. 9 inches of snow fell back in 1999.โ„

Solar noon 🌞 is at 12:05 pm with sun having an altitude of 26ยฐ from the due south horizon (-44.8ยฐ vs. 6/21). Almost summer or maybe not be we are creeping in the right direction. Be thirty before you know it. The golden hour 🏅 starts at 4:02 pm with the sun in the southwest (234ยฐ). 📸 The sunset is in the west-southwest (241ยฐ) starting at 4:42 pm and lasts for 3 minutes and 18 seconds with dusk around 5:16 pm, which is one minute and 9 seconds later than yesterday. 🌇 The best time to look at the stars is after 5:52 pm. At sunset, look for rain 🌧 and temperatures around 41 degrees. There will be a south-southeast breeze at 8 mph. Today will have 9 hours and 22 minutes of daytime, an increase of one minute and 33 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will have a chance of rain or drizzle before 7pm, then a chance of drizzle between 7pm and 1am. Mostly cloudy 🌧, with a low of 35 degrees at 6am. 21 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around April 8th. South wind 5 to 9 mph becoming west after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. In 2019, we had partly cloudy skies in the evening, which became light snow by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 10 degrees. The record low of -20 occurred back in 1957.

I am really watching too many YouTube videos these days 📹 while riding the exercise bike 🚲. I did get in an hour reading 📖 last night but I made zero progress on the John Wolcott project index 📇. Data entry is kind of boring, reminds me of my desk job too much. 💼 After spending so much time at work sitting I just want to move and there is so much dreaming of a better tomorrow by watching those off grid and homesteading videos I’ve downloaded from the YouTube video. I’m burning calories at least but I’m ignoring many other needs in life.

I told somebody last night that I will sign Bernie Sanders petitions. โœŠ While I can only legally sign one of the petitions I don’t often get asked to sign petitions. I don’t have to necessarily have to vote โŽ for him in the primary but I probably will. I kind of also like Elizabeth Warren but I still a few months to decide which bubble to fill out on the scantron. โœ’

Winter returns for King’s Weekend. โ›„ Saturday, snow, mainly after 1pm. High near 31. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Sunday, snow likely. Cloudy, with a high near 34. Chance of precipitation is 70%. Typical average high for the weekend is 30 degrees. Yeah, I don’t think Madison County will be on the agenda.

🌹🌻🌼Only 65 days remain until the first day of calendar spring!🌹🌻🌼.

Looking ahead, there are 4 weeks until Don’t Cry over Spilled Milk Day 🥛 when the sun will be setting at 5:21 pm with dusk at 5:50 pm. On that day in 2019, we had partly cloudy, snow showers and temperatures between 33 and 18 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 34 degrees. We hit a record high of 59 back in 1981.

Gully

January 13, 2020 Morning

Good morning! Happy Make Your Dream Come True Day ๐Ÿก! Take it Malvina Reynolds with your very white hair and cateye glasses ๐Ÿ‘“. Her music ๐ŸŽถ was very old ๐Ÿ‘ด and subversive and I hate vinyl siding and green grass lawns free of dandelions unless of course you have a goat ๐Ÿ chained up to a tree in the front yard. On this Monday, the 13th of January.

Little boxes on the hillside,
Little boxes made of ticky tacky
Little boxes on the hillside,
Little boxes all the same,
There’s a pink one and a green one
And a blue one and a yellow one
And they’re all made out of ticky tacky
And they all look just the same.

That think my dream involves more four wheelers, more fire, more livestock and guns than vinyl siding and chemical treated lawns.๐Ÿš™ And I like tin roofs as it means a lot less for the landfill every few years. ๐Ÿ’ญ The idea of surburbanite living with an SUV, a fancy pretentious looking house, weekly garbage service and grid-tied power, does absolutely nothing for me.๐Ÿšœ Probably more like a tractor supply commercial, or actually real life like the people in places like South Brookfield and Bedford County Penna live their lives.๐Ÿฎ

Mostly cloudy and 30 degrees at the Valero waiting for the local bus ๐Ÿš as I am dress up for the session day today. โ˜ There is a southeast breeze at 5 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. Things will start to thaw out at around 9 am. ๐ŸŒก๏ธ It looks like the bus will be on time, and I’ll probably be in early to work, probably the first int he office. But early to rise means it’s another chance to get ahead, make a better future for mysellf.

Spent way too much time ironing shirts ๐Ÿ‘š this morning. For some reason they came out of the dryer very wrinkled. โ™’I am thinking the issue was they were a bit damp. But I ironed all the shirts I need for the week this morning and to ensure they’re good and wrinkle free, I have them hung in the bathtub ๐Ÿ› shower curtain rod so they absorb the moisture in the air in the bathroom. You have to know it’s steamy in there when the bathroom steam set off the bedroom smoke detector on my way out to the bus ๐Ÿš. Then I knocked a bunch of papers loose ๐Ÿ“„ but at least I caught the early bus in plenty of time.

Today will have patchy drizzle between noon and 3pm. Mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒฅ, with a high of 39 degrees at 1pm. Nine degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around March 1st. Spring is coming, or so I tell myself. South wind 5 to 8 mph. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies in the morning with some clearing in the afternoon. The high last year was 23 degrees. The record high of 71 was set in 1932. 13.1 inches of snow fell back in 1964.โ„ Back when cars were real-wheel drive, and you threw them away at your friendly local landfill every 4-5 years.

Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 12:05 pm with sun having an altitude of 25.8ยฐ from the due south horizon (-45ยฐ vs. 6/21). Yeap, we have to wait for 4 pm for the golden hour to start. ๐ŸŒŸ The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 4:00 pm with the sun in the southwest (233ยฐ). ๐Ÿ“ธ Not only is the golden hour great for photography ๐Ÿ“ท but it is also good for seeing a wild life. I saw a shit ton of deer bushwhacking back to my truck yesterday after the golden hour started yesterday. Went through some brambles and probably picked up ticks ๐Ÿœ but so far didn’t see any but I should have checked again.

The sunset is in the west-southwest (241ยฐ) starting at 4:41 pm and lasts for 3 minutes and 19 seconds with dusk around 5:15 pm, which is one minute and 7 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ I think the sun will be due east on the first day of spring, which if math correct is 270 degrees west. The best time to look at the stars is after 5:51 pm. At sunset, look for mostly cloudy skies โ˜ and temperatures around 38 degrees. There will be a south-southeast breeze at 6 mph. Today will have 9 hours and 20 minutes of daytime, an increase of one minute and 29 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will be mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒฅ, with a low of 30 degrees at 6am. 16 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around March 27th. Calm wind. In 2019, we had mostly clear skies in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 8 degrees. The record low of -24 occurred back in 1957.

Snowy weekend weekend on tap to celebrate King’s birthday. โ„ Saturday, snow. High near 34. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Sunday, a chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 28. Chance of precipitation is 50%. Typical average high for the weekend is 30 degrees.

๐ŸŒน๐ŸŒป๐ŸŒผOnly 66 days remain until the first day of calendar spring!๐ŸŒน๐ŸŒป๐ŸŒผ

But first a big snow storm on Saturday or maybe not. โ„ But we don’t know for sure but it could be a half of foot or more this weekend. ๐ŸŽฟ Maybe good skiing but I doubt I’ll get out to Madison County especially if it’s going to be pretty cold and snowy. But by then it will be only sixty odd days until calendar ๐Ÿ“… spring although that’s a pretty meaningless thing with the often variable weather of March and April. But at least with the first day of spring in 66 and 2/3rd days away trout season ๐ŸŽฃ is will be nigh.

Next Monday is Martin Luther King Day ๐Ÿ–ค when the sun will be setting at 4:52 pm with dusk at 5:23 pm. On that day in 2019, we had snow and temperatures between 21 and 0 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 30 degrees. We hit a record high of 53 back in 2006.
