September 4, 2016 Morning

Good morning! Happy Sunday. Sunny and 55 degrees in Gilboa. Light breeze. The dew point is 49 degrees. Definitely feel like a fall morning as the sun rises over the other side of the mountain. Nice night sleeping but I did wake up pretty early. Acorns are falling and I heard the grunt of a buck early in the morning.

Made french toast for breakfast and sausage with some orange juice and bananas on the side. It was a bit of work to carry all that up the mountain – especially the campstove. Had to make an extra run to my truck – about a quarter mile away – when I left the bread in the truck. French toast without bread, just ain’t the same.

While I was making coffee this morning I looked up and saw a red tailed hawk right above on a branch. Probably looking to snag some breakfast. Flew off but I’m sure the hawk likes this area, although they may be he was kind of confused why I was in his area with cliffs.

Today will have patchy fog before 8am. Otherwise, sunny, with a high of 73 degrees at 3pm. Probably the pool will feel warmer than the air. Four degrees below normal. Maximum dew point of 53 at 4pm. Northeast wind 3 to 7 mph. The record high of 97 was set in 1929. The sun will set at 7:24 pm with dusk around 7:53 pm, which is 1 minutes and 44 seconds earlier than yesterday. Today will have 12 hours and 57 minutes of daylight, a decrease of 2 minutes and 48 seconds over yesterday. The days of thirteen hours of daylight are just a memory.

Tonight will be partly cloudy, with a low of 53 degrees at 5am. Three degrees below normal. Maximum dew point of 53 at 6pm. Northeast wind around 7 mph. The record low of 37 occurred back in 1974.

There is 1 week until September 11th when the sun will be setting at 7:12 pm with dusk at 7:40 pm. The average high temperature is 74 degrees, with a record high of 98 in 1931.
