September 16, 2016 Night

Good evening! Mostly clear and 66 degrees in North Syracuse. There is a south-southeast breeze at 5 mph. The dew point is 55 degrees. Not a half bad evening, especially with that big harvest moon hanging out overhead. It really was quite beautiful but with some clouds creeping in. Overall, I expect modestly warm night, really not that bad for mid-September.

Today wasn’t a terrible day but it was quite busy.Β There just was a lot of things going on, but I see things are moving along and progressing well. Sure, I’d like to be father along on some things but there is always tomorrow to finish up. I got out and enjoyed some of the autumn air a bit, but wish I could have spent more time fishing — the sun sets so dang early this time of year. Maybe Sunday afternoon into the evening, I’ll get down to Labrador Hollow to watch the sun set from Jones Hill and see what kind of pan fish I can catch at Labrador Pond. I’ll see how things go, especially on the weather front, come Sunday afternoon.

Dash camera continues to work well,Β although the past few days I haven’t driven anywhere to get scenic footage worthwhile to post on the Internet. Maybe after I visit Labrador Hollow on Sunday or later in the week. I’d also like to do a morning hike at Green Lakes State Park, but I almost want to wait until the colors are better.

Tonight will be partly cloudy, with a low of 58 degrees at 6am.Β Maximum dew point of 55 at 10pm. South wind 5 to 7 mph. Tonight is the Harvest or Corn Full Moon.Β I guess it depends on what crops your harvesting.Β The Last Quarter Moon is next Friday at 9:56 am. The Full β€œHarvest” Moon is on Sunday, October 16th at 4:23 am.

Tomorrow will have a chance of showers, mainly after 10am. Increasing clouds, with a high of 77 degrees at 3pm. Five degrees above normal. Maximum dew point of 64 at 4pm. South wind 6 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. The record high of 89 was set in 1942. The sun will rise at 6:46 am with the first light at 6:18 am, which is 1 minutes and 6 seconds later then yesterday.

Looking ahead, Veterans Day is in 8 weeks and Buy Nothing Day / Black Friday is in 10 weeks.
