The Tug Hill State Forest is located on the border of Jefferson and Lewis County on the Tug Plateau, at an elevation high enough where farming ceases, and the land either public or private timberlands. These are the pictures I took on that particular Wednesday in June.

Hiking on Timber Road. I couldn't find the main trailhead at first, so I decided instead to park, and hike back using this timber road to the escarpment.

Broken Ski Along Trail. The trails along the Inman Gulf are officially ski trails, but you'd have to be pretty brave and good skier to want to ski them. One mistake, and you could fall hundreds of feet.

Looking Into Valley Above Gorge. The geology of this area is fascinating, with these great low lands carved into the surface of the landscape, high above the Inman Gulf which is below.

More Trees Blocking Views Into Gulf. One of the problems with the Inman Gulf is there was constant issues with trees blocking the views into it below.
