Point Au Roche State Park is located on these beautiful penisulas that stick out into Lake Champlain about 8 miles from Plattsburgh. These are the pictures I took on that particular Sunday in August.

Two Foot Waves on Connors Bay. There is no way I was going to put a kayak in there. Maybe some very calm day, I'll be brave enough to go kayaking in a bay at Point Au Roche, close to the shore, but not today.

Point Au Roch Beach. Believe it or not, it was open on this rather rough day, with not the nicest weather. So if you want to go swimming in some rough surf, you could, with lifeguards watching you.

The End of Short Point. I didn't dare go out there, fall off, and drown in the 3-4 foot waves and 50+ mph. Calmer days in the fall, I've been almost out to the end.
