Independence River Photos.

Independence River Wild Forest and Otter Creek State Forest dot the Western Adirondack Plateau, which in many ways is similar landscape-wise to the higher elevations of the Tug Hill Plateau -- flat, sandy lands, with small hills and interesting terrain. This area is home to Adirondacks' largest state horse camp -- Otter Creek, the sand plains of Confusion Flats, several backcountry roads like Smith and Basket Factory Road with roadside camping, and many lakes like Francis Lake and Stillwater Reservior.
