East Branch of Sacandaga River Photos.

For several miles east of NY 30 in Wells, NY 8 runs along the Sacandaga River. This is a popular place for temporary hunting camps in the fall, and has dozens of campsites located off the roadways, along with trails to ponds and other locations. Driving along NY 8, if you don't stop and look for dirt roads spurring off the road, you'd never know anything was up here.
