The rain is expected to stop this morning on the time change … ๐Ÿ•‘๏ธ๐ŸŒง๏ธ

… dot, dot, dot. And then later possibly turn to snow before clearing out. Winter wants to remind us it’s still a thing, even though most of new week will be in the fifties and sixties, with the bite of winter not having much left due to El Nino and climate change.

Good morning! Rain showers are ending, around 36 degrees in Delmar, NY. โ˜” There is a northwest breeze at 7 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. Temperatures will drop below freezing at tomorrow around 3 am. โ˜ƒ๏ธ My windows have been closed all of last night and most of the evening, though the heat has been off but I used the heated blanket.

Kind of an usual Sunday, ๐Ÿ˜ต up early at 5 AM and showering soon ๐Ÿ›€ and then off to Wally World to get groceries and supplies. ๐Ÿ›’ Nothing to earth shocking. ๐Ÿ’ฃ๏ธ I mean, I did set my clocks ahead, so I really got up at 4 AM, but we won’t say that. Then I want to do a drive out to country,  ๐Ÿ„ look at some properties I have been thinking about and explore some back roads, ๐Ÿ›ป and then head out to the folks house fairly early for Sunday dinner. I’d like to get home by 7:30 PM tonight so I can avoid driving after if possible. I don’t mind is so much any more, since I’ve started to eat more carrots ๐Ÿฅ•, adjusted my headlights ๐Ÿ”ฆ and generally are more healthy, but why drive after dark if you can avoid it? Says the boy who is thinking about building an off-grid cabin out in the country, and seriously considering absurdly long commutes in the dark to do it. ๐Ÿคท‍โ™‚๏ธ I am probably totally nuts, ๐Ÿคช letting my mental illness and pyromania ๐Ÿ”ฅ get the best of me. But just think of the bonfires I could have if I lived out in the country. Or the warmth of the wood stove. I just love burning things. ๐Ÿงก ๐Ÿคฃ

Today will have a chance of rain, mainly before 8am. Mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒง, with a high of 45 degrees at 1pm. Two degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around March 15th. West wind 7 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible. A year ago, we had partly cloudy skies in the morning, remaining cloudy in the afternoon. The high last year was 44 degrees. The record high of 72 was set in 1977. 5.7 inches of snow fell back in 1964.โ„

Last night I baked bread ๐Ÿž and made a big pot of red lentil soup. ๐Ÿฒ Also I cooked up a acorn squash that I will be enjoying most of this week. The bread is carrot bread with lots of shredded carrots. ๐Ÿฅ• The red lentil soup contains peas, shredded carrots and lots of turmeric and spices. ๐Ÿง‚ I had been cutting back on carrots, as they can be a bit excessive on the fiber side thing, but I saw that had been piling up in the refrigerator, and didn’t want them to go waste and they are healthy. Not as sweet as they are some times, but they do make bread so moist and delicious. Eggs for breakfast today. ๐Ÿ“ My pantry is getting a bit bare now.

Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 1:06 pm with sun having an altitude of 43.5° from the due south horizon (-27.3° vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 6.3 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 6:19 pm with the sun in the west (259°). ๐Ÿ“ธ The sunset is in the west (266°) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 6:57 pm after setting for 2 minutes and 55 seconds with dusk around 7:24 pm, which is one minute and 11 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ At dusk you’ll see the Waxing Crescent ๐ŸŒ’ Moon in the west (266°) at an altitude of 2° from the horizon, 226,500 miles away. ๐Ÿš€ The best time to look at the stars is after 7:58 pm. At sunset, look for snow ๐ŸŒจ and temperatures around 39 degrees. Breezy, 18 mph breeze โ›… from the west-northwest with gusts up to 36mph. Tomorrow will have 11 hours and 47 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 54 seconds over today.

I was thinking today marks the four years since the pandemic shit got real. ๐Ÿ˜ท While at this point wearing muzzles didn’t become standard fare yet, it was the evening when we all got the news that things were shutting down ๐Ÿ“‚ and that we’d all be working remote for the next year or two. Of course none of that was known, we were promised four or six weeks of isolation, and it wasn’t fun not having Internet at home at first, but I got good working out of ol’ Big Red ๐Ÿ›ป down at the parking lot of public library, ๐Ÿ‘จ‍๐Ÿ’ป at least on warm and sunny days, โ˜€๏ธ at least those days it wasn’t so hot. And in many cases, working remote from the Adirondacks was a lot of fun, camping ๐Ÿ• and hanging out at the Speculator Library doing Zooms when the internet wasn’t flakey due too many people being on it. Time goes by so fast, I mean it’s was only a year ago when using the word shit became something you could use in a country song and polite conversation. ๐Ÿ’ฉ It’s good, we all do it, and makes crops grow. ๐ŸŒฑ And I do it a lot with all the fiber I eat. ๐Ÿฅฆ

Tonight will have a chance of snow showers, mainly between 7pm and 5am. Cloudy ๐ŸŒง, with a low of 32 degrees at 4am. Seven degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around April 2nd. Breezy, with a northwest wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 34 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible. In 2023, we had light rain in the evening, which became light snow by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 28 degrees. The record low of -10 occurred back in 1939.

Getting up at 5 AM this morning, ๐Ÿ›Œ I expect to be super tired by evening. But the plan is to get to bed early, and keep getting up each morning early. I have best thoughts, and most interest in reading and learning in the early mornings. ๐Ÿ“š Yes, it’s going to be dark in mornings for the next few weeks, but with earth wobble ๐ŸŒŽ and changing of seasons meaning the fastest growth of daylight ๐ŸŒ„ we actually pick up daylight in the morning quickly this time of year.

Today in 1969, in Memphis, Tennessee, James Earl Ray pleads guilty to assassinating Martin Luther King, Jr. ๐Ÿ› He later unsuccessfully attempts to recant. Didn’t help that the FBI had a very active role in trying to kill King, and while they didn’t pull the trigger, they certainly didn’t offer him any protection and actively harassed him until his death. ๐Ÿ‘ฎ‍โ™€๏ธ The FBI, especially ol’ J. Edgar Hoover, was convinced that MLK was a bad news, a dangerous radical. That said, I am not at all convinced that J. Edgar Hoover wasn’t a closeted homosexual with multiple prominent men who took his aggression and insecurities out on the new left. ๐Ÿ‘ฌ He certainly was close to Paul Harvey, another character who you had to have a lot of questions about. People should be honest who they are, and not give a duck what others think of them. โœŠ  And not take out their own insecurities on others, especially if they person of power like J. Edgar Hoover. ๐Ÿ˜Ÿ It’s funny how us mentally ill people take out own problems on others.

Looking ahead, next Sunday is St. Patrick’s Day ๐Ÿ€ when the sun will be setting at 7:06 pm with dusk at 7:32 pm. Which means the drunks will be on the roads next weekend, as will the cops trying to catch them. ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘ฎ St. Patricks Day is far more dangerous then the time change for deadly crashes. ๐Ÿš—๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿš™  People make such a big deal out of  the time change, ๐Ÿ•“ but it’s the beer that kills. And summer is by far most deadly time on the road — more driving, more beers, less cares. On Saint Patricks’ Day 2023, we had rain showers, cloudy and temperatures between 47 and 32 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 45 degrees. We hit a record high of 75 back in 1990.

 South

A Rainy Sunday Ahead ๐ŸŒง๏ธ

It could be snow but not with El Niño and the jet stream in its current position. At least we’re not expecting to get as socked by rain as the southern states in the coming weeks.

Good morning! Happy Wet Sunday. Yes, clouds โ˜๏ธand 40 degrees in Delmar. Rain coming soon. โ˜” There is a north-northeast breeze at 5 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. Temperatures will drop below freezing at Tuesday around 9 pm. โ˜ƒ๏ธ Still another pretty mild day, saving on the heat being off. I don’t know why I worry so much about heating bills, as they only work out in the coldest months to be like $30 over the normal non-heating bills, but I do. โ™จ๏ธ It’s not like I don’t make good money, though I’m always broke as I’m stashing so much in the market and for retirement. But I just don’t like seeing my money go up into smoke, ๐Ÿ’จ says the boy who drives a big jacked up truck that has a drinking problem. โ›ฝ

Yesterday wasn’t a real productive day, ๐Ÿ“š the biggest thing I did was go down to the library for a while to work on my laptop ๐Ÿ’ป and then reheat some chilli and cook some kidney beans. Like yesterday, this morning I baked a breakfast cake with oatmeal, whole-wheat flour, an egg, stevia, two bananas and cranberries. Good breakfast, super moist, really like a cake. ๐Ÿฐ Been doing a lot more cooking with cranberries as they’re dirt cheap this time of year — $1.50 for a large bag, and quite delicious. Been continuing on that machine learning course, ๐Ÿค– now that I’m in the deep dive into principal component analysis, really starting to learn a lot more. The course I’m learning is primarily about using R packages for machine learning, but most of the techniques could be used with Python. I probably would learn Python and scikitlearn for machine learning, but I feel like I know R better these days as that’s what I constantly use, as like the maggitr pipes and ggplot graphics output.

Today will have showers likely before 8am, then rain, mainly after 8am. ๐ŸŒง High of 44 degrees at 2pm. Two degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around November 29th. Northeast wind around 6 mph becoming east in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible. A year ago, we had rain in the morning with more sun in the afternoon. The high last year was 53 degrees. The record high of 63 was set in 2009. 5.2 inches of snow fell back in 1893.โ„

After showering this morning, ๐Ÿ›€ heading to Walmart to get groceries for the week, probably around 9 AM before the crowds get there. The big thing is spices, but also frozen fruits and vegetables, plus the usual like another container of oatmeal as I used that up making breakfasts, pancakes and bread. ๐Ÿ›’ Making a list this time in hope that I won’t forget things, though chances are good at least some of things on my list won’t be in stock, as it always happens. Then I want to wash the kitchen floor, do some cleaning and straightening up.

Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 11:46 am with sun having an altitude of 25.3° from the due south horizon (-45.5° vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 12.7 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 3:39 pm with the sun in the southwest (233°). ๐Ÿ“ธ The sunset is in the west-southwest (240°) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 4:24 pm after setting for 3 minutes and 21 seconds with dusk around 4:54 pm, which is 16 seconds earlier than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ The best time to look at the stars is after 5:30 pm. At sunset, look for rain ๐ŸŒง and temperatures around 43 degrees. There will be a east breeze at 6 mph. Tomorrow will have 9 hours and 16 minutes of daytime, a decrease of one minute and 14 seconds over today.

This afternoon heading out to the folks house ๐Ÿฒ for some turkey soup and the Sunday dinner. Just going to be kind of a rainy day, but I figure get home early then I’ll have time to make up bread ๐Ÿž and soak beans or maybe peas in preparation for making soup come the morning. Then that will be Monday’s dinner. Been working on slowly but surely eating up some of the food I previously frozen but also making sure to maintain balanced meals each day. And maybe some time to read ๐Ÿ“– before heading to bed pretty early. No need to stay up late on such a dreary day.

Tonight will rain, mainly before midnight. ๐ŸŒง Low of 39 degrees at 6am. 13 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around October 23rd. South wind 6 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible. In 2022, we had mostly clear skies in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 25 degrees. The record low of -9 occurred back in 1940.

Yesterday I was thumbing through some properties and land on Zillow. ๐Ÿ˜ So much is that suburban crap with marble countertops and neighbors. It’s hard to find nice pieces of land with acreage. Not that I’m seriously thinking of buying at this point but it can be fun during downtime. That said, moving to the suburban office with free parking, makes it more tempting to think about moving back out to country. Plus I’ll be making more money at my new job, but I think that’s putting the cart before the wagon, because who knows how it will work out or how I’ll like it. It’s a big step forward though. But for now, I’ll probably stay in my apartment. It’s inexpensive, even if it is run down. I have my fun getting away and camping in the wilderness. ๐Ÿ• Looking forward to getting away again in two and a half weeks on the run up to the Christmas holiday.

As previously noted, next Sunday is 7:15 AM Sunrise โŒ›๏ธ when the sun will be setting at 4:23 pm with dusk at 4:53 pm. On that day in 2022, we had mostly sunny and temperatures between 31 and 20 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 40 degrees. We hit a record high of 64 back in 1966.

House Pond is Getting Icy ?

Fifty days remain in 2023 ๐Ÿ—“

Day by day. The fact that Thanksgiving Day Week is basically the week after next week shows how fast the year is coming to a close. While maybe it would have been nice to get out of town this weekend, I’m thinking today I’ll ride to Peebles Island and have some fun closer to home while trying to hold the line on expenses, though I’ll probably end up taking the 18 bus back home and will probably need to get to the grocery store and or Walmart this evening as I’m eating myself out of house and home again.

Good morning! Partly clear ๐ŸŒ… and 41 degrees in Delmar, NY on this Veteran’s Day. ๐Ÿต There is a northwest breeze at 6 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. Temperatures will drop below freezing at around 10 pm. โ˜ƒ๏ธ Not so cold for a mid-November morning, though it won’t warm up that much and it will be breezy.

Up a bit before six o’clock โฐ though I was awake before then. Decided to do oatmeal-banana pancakes with chia seeds today, ๐Ÿฅž topped with shredded apples ๐ŸŽ mixed with boiled apple cider, cinnamon, ginger and heated in the microwave. It was good. I have to admit I also had a bit more of that soup I made up last night — chicken soup I guess — ๐Ÿฒ though it was more of a stew with rich earthy overtones with lots of cumin and ground chili spice. Also finally getting around to cooking some chickpeas, ๐Ÿ‘ฉ‍๐Ÿณ might make hummus or just have them with various meals. Mom was suggesting putting them in soups. I also like them with fresh fruit, kind of like a trail mix without as much as fat as nuts, though they can certainly be good mixed in a handful of almonds, blueberries, and raspberries. ๐Ÿฅœ

Today is Veterans Day, which will will be mostly sunny ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 46 degrees at 1pm. Five degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around November 23rd. Northwest wind 6 to 11 mph. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies in the morning, which became rain by afternoon. It became somewhat humid as the day progressed. The high last year was 69 degrees. The record high of 70 was set in 2002. 3.0 inches of snow fell back in 1906.โ„

I am thinking about riding out to Peebles Island State Park in Cohoes. ๐Ÿšฒ It’s about 17 miles or an hour and a half ride each way. I am thinking I would likely ride up to the park, bring a lunch, walk around Peebles Island and maybe a little bit in Cohoes along the Canal. ๐Ÿ“ท Going to be a nice sunny day with blue skies for pictures. Then ride back to Albany via the Empire Trail, and catch the 18 bus back home. ๐ŸšŒ as I expect by then I’ll probably be running low on daylight and pretty tired as it’s a big trip. ๐ŸŒ† Days are so short come mid-November. I am thinking my next out of town adventure will be in a little under two weeks — the day after Thanksgiving through the following Monday, probably Route 8 on East Branch. Some quiet time off the internet.

Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 11:40 am with sun having an altitude of 30° from the due south horizon (-40.8° vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 10.4 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 3:57 pm with the sun in the west-southwest (240°). ๐Ÿ“ธ The sunset is in the west-southwest (247°) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 4:38 pm after setting for 3 minutes and 10 seconds with dusk around 5:07 pm, which is one minute and 3 seconds earlier than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ The best time to look at the stars is after 5:42 pm. At sunset, look for mostly clear skies ๐ŸŒ„ and temperatures around 43 degrees. There will be a northwest breeze at 10 mph. Tomorrow will have 9 hours and 56 minutes of daytime, a decrease of 2 minutes and 16 seconds over today.

Money is just kind of tight ๐Ÿ’ณ after vacation and renewing my blog contract and all the trips I’ve been taking. โ›ฝ I ended up transferring in $750 from savings to ensure I had enough money to pay my credit card bill and maintain adequate balance in my bank account through the money. It’s not a pay week but come Wednesday, $1,300 goes out to the credit card. Already earned $135 from blog advertising, though I won’t get paid until mid-December under the Google Ad Sense rules that require a $100 minimum unpaid balance at end of the month to get paid, and then they hold your check for three weeks to verify it and collect interest on it. ๐Ÿจ I know, it’s kind of obnoxious but I’ll probably earn at least another $30 or $40 bucks before the month is done to tack on the $135. Web advertising is a bit of a mystery, based on bidding — one day I earned like $11 in ad revenue which is crazy compared to a buck or two most days and when you multiply it out over the months, especially for a small little blog like this. It’s good I’m staying home this weekend.

Truth is I have a lot of money coming in, ๐Ÿ”€ but the thing is as soon as it comes in a lot goes out. I am continuing to invest heavily into my retirement accounts ๐Ÿ‘ด as now is the time to do it while I’m relatively young and making good money, ๐Ÿ’ต and also into my investment accounts so they can continue to grow and own my own land eventually. While interest rates are up on my savings account — close to 5%, with inflation I figure it’s better to be going into the stock and bond market, especially over the long term. There will be a recession ๐Ÿ“‰ but eventually we’ll come out of it and things will grow. I am hopeful I can pay back my savings account in the next few months, especially as some of those short term expenses like vacation come and go, though soon I’ll have heating bills, though so far I’ve avoided using the heat, though yesterday โ™จ๏ธ I finally put the screens in my window and patched the air leaks around the door, ๐ŸชŸ as I know I’ll need the heat before long. I have the heated blanket ready to go but I haven’t put that on the bed yet, though I will be ready when those days come.

Tonight will be mostly clear ๐ŸŒƒ, with a low of 26 degrees at 6am. Seven degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical night around December 3rd. Northwest wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm in the evening. In 2022, we had light rain in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It was somewhat humid. It got down to 49 degrees. The record low of 15 occurred back in 1976.

Yesterday, I rode out to Voorheesville ๐Ÿšฒ and spent a lot of time reading and watching video and reading material for yet another Udemy class that I get free from the library. ๐Ÿ“ฑ Last week I finished a class called the Fundamentals of Remote Sensing and Geospatial Analysis, now I am a few hours into a class on Remote Sensing and QGIS. Basically it’s all about using data collected from satellites ๐Ÿ“ก to learn about what is happening on the earth’s surface. ๐Ÿ“š I was going to go down to the library last night but I was tired and comfortable in my bed, after enjoying that soup that I made earlier int he day. ๐Ÿ›Œ I figure this is the time of year to learn more, and Remote Sensing is only going to improve my GIS skills, especially combined with the use of raster math both in QGIS and R programming language.

As previously noted, next Saturday is Regular Deer Season in Southern Zone ๐ŸฆŒ when the sun will be setting at 4:32 pm with dusk at 5:01 pm. On that day in 2022, we had partly cloudy skies, snow showers and temperatures between 43 and 28 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 48 degrees. Opened this morning in Vermont. We hit a record high of 71 back in 1928.

Old Railbed Follows the Creek

Nostgolia on this Election Day 2023 โ˜•๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿ—ณ๏ธ

This year I’m glad I’m not involved in any elections or doing anything political. Just sipping my coffee watching the sun rise remembering the days gone by but glad I’m not at all rushed this morning.

Good morning! Happy Election Day 2023. Partly cloudy โ›… and 51 degrees at the Stoney Pond State Forest. โ˜” There is a west-southwest breeze at 15 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. The dew point is 47 degrees. I can smell the manure somebody’s spreading this morning ๐Ÿ’ฉ it’s November in Madison County and the field work is soon to be done for the season. ๐Ÿšœ They might have snow as soon as midweek.

Turned out to be a much nicer morning then expected. โ˜• I knew it was going to be a great day when I awoke, saw the clear night skies ๐ŸŒœand the moon. Had a nice hardy breakfast of eggs ๐Ÿณ with lots of vegetables and onions ๐Ÿง… that I got at Aldi’a yesterday in Cazenovia. While yesterday was cold, damp and gray at times it was still a good day with lots of riding ๐Ÿšฒ and making the most of my day off. A lot has changed in this world over the past few years but mornings are still quite beautiful and the coffee is good.

Glad I’m not involved in any elections this year ๐Ÿ—ณ but there were many hard fought ones out of Bill Magees auction house ๐Ÿ—๏ธ ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿบjust down the road. Been half a decade now, I saw the bridge in Cazenovia they renamed after him. It was sad he lost five years ago, but during that general election cycle wasn’t my race. ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐ŸŒพ Truth is winning these rural districts is almost impossible with the democratic party becoming mostly an urban issues party with gun ๐Ÿ”ซ control one of their top priorities. I can understand why people vote the way they do nowadays out in the country. ๐Ÿšœ It’s not just Trump. Both parties have become more extreme but the Republicans have really locked up the rural areas nowadays. I have a feeling that Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Senator John Tester of Montana are going to loose in 2024, especially if the GOP runs a stronger presidential candidate then felon Donald Trump. โณ Time moves on. Democrats though really have locked up the suburbs, especially the older ones and professional class. ๐Ÿ•ด๐Ÿป

Today will have showers likely, mainly between 10am and 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a temperature falling to around 43 by 5pm. ๐ŸŒฆ๏ธ Breezy, with a west wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 32 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies in the morning with sunny skies in the afternoon. The high last year was 69 degrees. The record high of 75 was set in 1938. 4.5 inches of snow fell back in 1886.โ„

I’m not sure how long it will be nice, clouds are already pushing in. ๐ŸŒฅ I don’t want to deal with wet camping gear ๐Ÿ• so I’m slowly but surely taking things down. I don’t have solid plans for today but I think ๐Ÿค” I’ll just go for a walk ๐Ÿšถ around Stoney Pond then head home and get unpacked. ๐Ÿ‘ช Planning to go see my family this afternoon it’s been three 3โƒฃ weeks as I’ve been out of town ๐ŸŒฒ on various trips. Despite yesterday being cold and dreary especially midday it was a great trip.

Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 11:47 am with sun having an altitude of 30.9ยฐ from the due south horizon (-39.6ยฐ vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 10 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 4:08 pm with the sun in the west-southwest (241ยฐ). ๐Ÿ“ธ The sunset is in the west-southwest (249ยฐ) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 4:50 pm after setting for 3 minutes and 8 seconds with dusk around 5:18 pm, which is one minute and 10 seconds earlier than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ The best time to look at the stars is after 5:53 pm. At sunset, look for rain ๐ŸŒง and temperatures around 44 degrees. Breezy, 20 mph breeze โ›… from the west-northwest with gusts up to 32mph. Today will have 10 hours and 6 minutes of daytime, a decrease of 2 minutes and 26 seconds over yesterday.

Yesterday I rode the South Trail from outside of Cazenovia to New Woodstock. ๐Ÿšต Nice ride though best on a mountain bike as some parts of the trail are a bit rough with roots and gravel. Pungent with the cow poop and water slurry ๐Ÿฎ ๐Ÿ’ฉ one of the dairies was applying to a nearby field but that’s to be expected this time of year.

Spent a little bit of time riding around New Woodstock yesterday after taking the South Trail from outside of Cazenovia to New Woodstock. ๐Ÿš‚ Neat little village with a Historical Museum just off the rail trail. They like in Cazenovia also have an old Black Diamond Caboose there. Cute little village.

Unfortunately my bike had developed a really annoying squeak on Sunday afternoon โš™๏ธ which I couldn’t figure out and started applying grease everywhere, including getting it all over my hands ๐Ÿ‘ and jeans ๐Ÿ‘– and started to drive me crazy thinking I might have a failing bearing or some problem that could leave me stranded. I thought it was just some stone dust from the Erie Canalway somewhere it shouldn’t be mixed with the grease. Kept stopping, applying grease trying to find the noise. ๐Ÿ”• Finally, I figured it out, it was the left pedal got some stone dust in it and squeaking. A little spray lubricant, knock off WD 40 on the pedal after my south trail ride ๐Ÿšฒ returned my sanity.

Swung by Critz Farms hoping to get apples ๐Ÿ but it looked like only the brewery was open ๐Ÿป and I wasn’t looking for a drink. So I went to Cazenovia Lake Park. Kind of cold gray afternoon but the geeese didn’t seem to mind the cool gray day on Cazenovia Lake. ๐Ÿฆ†

Then I went to the Lorenzo State Historic Site, never been there before. โ›ฒ Been by it a million times though. It was a Monday so all the buildings were shut up and no visitor services or as I needed a bathroom ๐Ÿšฝ but it was still nice to explore the grounds. Swung by the library ๐Ÿ“š in Cazenovia for a pee.

Then I Canastota – Cazenovia Trailway, it was starting to rain and was cold didn’t spend a lot of time, โ˜” wanted get back to camp and start cooking soup plus by then I needed another bathroom ๐Ÿšฝ break. Too much coffee โ˜• in the morning. ๐ŸŒ… Also didn’t feel like carrying my mountain bike over several steps to cross Bingley Road. Visited Aldi’s in Cazenovia ๐Ÿ ๐Ÿฅฆ, such a delightful shopping experience. ๐Ÿ›’ Low prices, simple selection quick in and out and the cashier lines without them bagging is so quick. โ˜บ

Got back to camp around 4 pm accidentally brushed a tree with one of my tires backing into the campsite โ›บ rushing having to pee but didn’t do any body damage to my truck ๐Ÿ›ป as the tires stick out beyond the body. Sun โ˜€ came out and ghe wind died down. Fried onions and mushrooms, boiled carrots, broccoli, spinach and whole wheat pasta, added some tuna fish ๐Ÿ  for an excellent dinner. Soup really warmed me up ๐Ÿฒ, I just wish I had some homemade bread ๐Ÿž to dip in it but I eat all of that the previous three days. Had a nice fire ๐Ÿ”ฅ didn’t rain until 7:30 pm so it was a good evening at which point I retired to bed ๐Ÿ› in my truck for the evening.

Tonight will have a chance of rain and snow showers before 11pm, then a slight chance of snow showers between 11pm and 1am, then a chance of flurries after 1am. Cloudy ๐ŸŒง, with a low of 26 degrees at 6am. Eight degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical night around December 3rd. Northwest wind 14 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Little or no snow accumulation expected. In 2022, we had clear skies in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 34 degrees. The record low of 18 occurred back in 1971.

Cool but fairly decent now for Veterans Day Weekend, especially come Saturday. โ˜€ Friday, clouds then clearing, high may reach 43. Saturday, mostly sunny, with a high near 37. Sunday, going to be sunny and 39. Typical average high for the weekend is 51 degrees. Probably will stay ๐Ÿก next weekend.

Looking ahead, next Tuesday is Average High is 50 ๐Ÿ‚ when the sun will be setting at 4:42 pm with dusk at 5:11 pm. On that day in 2022, we had partly sunny and temperatures between 42 and 27 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 50 degrees. We hit a record high of 70 back in 1973.

One Car

Rain showers change everything ๐ŸŒง๏ธ

I was going to take today off to go to the Adirondacks or Schoharie County or maybe the Green Mountains but the forecast is trending wetter then I expected. So I’m going to head into the office today to work and maybe reconsider a day off midweek next week to do something fun probably with the mountain bike.

Good morning! Yeah, it’s Friday! Rain and 55 degrees in Delmar, NY. โ˜” Calm wind. The dew point is 51 degrees. The skies will clear tomorrow around 1 pm.

I guess I’m having the ultimate in fad breakfasts today, probably something they would eat on the colored television … ๐Ÿฅฃ Reheated quinoa with chia seeds, topped with Greek yogurt, shredded apple with a ton of cinnamon and ginger and black coffee. โ˜• I heard it’s National Coffee Day. Black is beautiful but don’t tell the teat strippers. ๐Ÿฎ And I don’t want to drink too much, as my doctor says not to. ๐Ÿšฝ  I did rehydrate well last night. At any rate, I actually doubt people on the colored television eat such things, ๐Ÿ“บ not enough corporate profits manufacturing such things plus not enough sugar and saturated fats to keep people tossing it in their shopping carts. ๐Ÿ›’

Up and going this morning, โ˜บ with the rain I’m catching the early express downtown and will walk laps on the Plaza or the Knickerbocker Arena to get my steps ๐Ÿ‘ฃ as much as possible before work. I might walk down to the library ๐Ÿ“š after work, it depends on how wet it is but I could use a good book or two to read ๐Ÿ“–. I really like getting up at five o’clock after getting to bed at nine. ๐Ÿ› Early to bed and early rise is great, especially when you have good meals cooking down on stove. ๐Ÿ‘จ‍๐Ÿณ Not so much this morning, as I have plenty in my fridge cooked, and I’m cutting back on calories today after a heavy day yesterday.

Expensive day – $2,300 going out of the door ๐Ÿšช today for rent, car insurance, stock – bond purchases and the Roth IRA. That’s after getting paid $1,800 this week, so my account balance will drop to a hundred or so above the minimum. ๐Ÿคฏ I will have sufficient funds but I might tap my rainy day fund before my trip to West Virginia so I can retire some credit card ๐Ÿ’ณ debt early so I have extra room on my card for emergencies. It happens occasionally to the best of us. As my checking account isn’t interest bearing these days with inflation you don’t want to keep more than a few pennies above the minimum with the bank ๐Ÿฆ.

Today will rain, mainly after 7am. Cloudy ๐ŸŒง, with a high of 60 degrees at 3pm. Nine degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around October 19th. Maximum dew point of 53 at 4pm. Light and variable wind. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible. A year ago, we had cloudy skies in the morning with a few breaks of sun the afternoon. The high last year was 62 degrees. The record high of 86 was set in 1921.

I took off yesterday to do a day trip with my parents to the Adirondacks. โ›ฐ ๐Ÿ“ธ They’re getting up in the years and walking is hard for them so we didn’t go far from the car but in parts there was some nice color ๐Ÿ‚ and I showed them around Speculator, Piseco-Powley Road then Canal Place and Moss Island in Little Falls. It was a great trip, nice to spend a day with the family ๐Ÿ‘ช as in your forties you know those days won’t last forever. I made some really good hummus to have with lunch, mom made some good cheese and turkey wraps. ๐Ÿ˜‹ Nice breeze on the lake, colors varied from good to quite muted. ๐Ÿ We had a nice picnic on the shores of Lake Pleasant in Speculator then dinner at Poncho’s Mexican ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡ฝ in Elsmere. It was good Mexican, the chips and food super greasy but that’s to be expected. Came home and had some edamame and butternut squash to have more fiber to tie down all those fats — with some ginger and tumerac because I like such things. ๐ŸŒฏ And no dessert. ๐Ÿ˜‹ Chose a light breakfast today. It’s fun to have some junk with friends and family, especially knowing how fast time goes by so quickly.

Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 12:47 pm with sun having an altitude of 45° from the due south horizon (-25.8° vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 6 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 6:05 pm with the sun in the west (261°). ๐Ÿ“ธ The sunset is in the west (268°) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 6:42 pm after setting for 2 minutes and 54 seconds with dusk around 7:09 pm, which is one minute and 46 seconds earlier than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ At dusk you’ll see the Waning Gibbous ๐ŸŒ– Moon in the east (86°) at an altitude of 2° from the horizon, 229,425 miles away. ๐Ÿš€ The best time to look at the stars is after 7:43 pm. At sunset, look for rain ๐ŸŒง and temperatures around 58 degrees. The dew point will be 53 degrees. There will be a calm wind. Tomorrow will have 11 hours and 50 minutes of daytime, a decrease of 2 minutes and 52 seconds over today.

Times of rain this evening. ๐ŸŒง, with a low of 52 degrees at 4am. Five degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around September 18th. Maximum dew point of 53 at 6pm. North wind 3 to 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible. In 2022, we had mostly clear skies in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 39 degrees. The record low of 28 occurred back in 1991.

The rain clears out for the Saturday. ๐Ÿ˜€ A chance of showers before 8am. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 68. North wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. Not as nice of a forecast then they were predicting ๐Ÿ”ฎ but not a wash out.

I was originally planning on heading out to Rennselaerville State Forest and then Burnt-Rossman or maybe the Green Mountains ๐ŸŒฒ๐ŸŒณ๐Ÿ•๏ธ before the forecast turned to rain โ˜” today. Not sure what my weekend plans are now, I’m thinking I will rattle can over the rust on Big Red on Saturday.๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธ๐Ÿ›ป I could do an overnight somewhere but I have my doubts at this point. It might be better to stay closer to home, save some money, especially if I want to do some trail riding mid-week, and maybe head out of town next weekend. ๐Ÿง€ Somehow I’m very interested in that whole Little Falls Cheese festival, which cow owners tell me is a really fun event to attend. This year Piseco-Powley would likely be at peak color for Columbus Day Weekend ๐Ÿ‚ so maybe that’s where I should go. The colors weren’t bad yesterday when I was up there with the folks.

Looking ahead to Sunday the first of October, sunny, โ˜€ with a high near 75. Maximum dew point of 57 at 4pm. Wow, that sounds like a beautiful day for starting out October. Basically perfect, when you figure the typical average high for the weekend is 68 degrees. ๐ŸŽƒ Next to make more meals with pumpkin, lol. That might be a good day to play around on the mountain bike trails on Wolf Hill. ๐Ÿšฒ That is if I don’t decide to do an overnight somewhere. I don’t know.

Looking ahead, there are 8 weeks until Buy Nothing Day ๐Ÿ›๏ธ when the sun will be setting at 4:27 pm with dusk at 4:57 pm (Standard Time). Day after Thanksgiving, seems so soon. ๐Ÿฆƒ If there isn’t a ton of snow, I’ll probably head up north for that day, as rifle season is waning in those days. ๐ŸฆŒ Probably camp along NY 8, if I hike it will be a more popular trail with lots of blaze orange on. On that day in 2022, we had partly sunny and temperatures between 49 and 24 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 46 degrees. We hit a record high of 70 back in 2014.

Sun rises over Almost Heaven

The rain let up for the morning walk โ˜”

I really didn’t think I would get out walking today outside but it turned out to just be a drizzle if that. Not sure if it will be this light all day but probably because when they warn of heavy rain it always gets scared off and leaves two drops of rain.

Good morning! Monday’s come back around again. Rain drops ๐Ÿ’ง and cloudy and 67 degrees in Delmar, NY. โ˜ Calm wind. The dew point is 66 degrees. The rain will stop tonight and skies will clear tomorrow around 5 am. Might be a good day to take delivery of Blackie, the name I gave my new mountain bike if it’s ready.

This morning out walking ๐Ÿšถ. I’m happy about that. The black coffee โ˜• – already had a half cup and breakfast will be original cream of wheat with frozen blueberries and a good glop of plain non fat Greek yogurt mixed in for protein and taste. ๐Ÿฅฃ At first I struggled to adopt the Greek yogurt craze ๐Ÿคช, as it’s rather tart and when I started eating healthy I zeroed in on the calories and saturated fats in dairy but I came around getting to like the somewhat bitter taste, noting the excellent ratio of protein to calories and how it’s a way to support dairy ๐Ÿฎ without as much of the unhealthy crap as cheese ๐Ÿง€ and ice cream ๐Ÿฆ.

Today will rain and possibly a thunderstorm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. ๐ŸŒง High of 75 degrees at 5pm. Eight degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around June 4th. Maximum dew point of 69 at 10am. ๐Ÿ–๏ธ Light north wind becoming northwest 5 to 10 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies. The high last year was 81 degrees. The record high of 100 was set in 1936.

I am hoping it stays dry enough to walk this evening ๐Ÿ‘ฃ but realistically I see the forecast. I will do the best I can do at lunch time, walking in the Concourse or maybe in the walkway. But it might be a good evening to continue reading either the Boggleheads Guide to Investing or Beginner’s Guide to D3.js. I am trying to learn more about D3.js. ๐Ÿ“š I took a FreeCodeCamp class on D3.js last fall but I’ve never used it but it’s a powerful tool for creating visualizations in Javascript. I also need to retire the debt on my credit card today, ๐Ÿ’ณ as I need more room under my credit limit so I can actually purchase the bike this week. ๐Ÿšต‍โ™€๏ธ Also want to get my FreeCreditReport and make sure all my credit accounts are still locked and clear, like they should be — and super boring.

Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 1:01 pm with sun having an altitude of 69.6° from the due south horizon (-1.2° vs. 6/21). The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 7:53 pm with the sun in the west-northwest (295°). ๐Ÿ“ธ The sunset is in the west-northwest (302°) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 8:35 pm after setting for 3 minutes and 24 seconds with dusk around 9:08 pm, which is 27 seconds earlier than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ The best time to look at the stars is after 9:53 pm. At sunset, look for rain ๐ŸŒง and thunderstorms ๐ŸŒฉ and temperatures around 71 degrees. The dew point will be 65 degrees. There will be a northwest breeze at 9 mph. Today will have 15 hours and 10 minutes of daytime, a decrease of one minute and 11 seconds over yesterday.

Last night I got reading ๐Ÿ“– the Boggleheads Guide to Investing. Truth be told not much I didn’t already know but it’s good to expand your knowledge. I’ve done a lot of things right though I fully admit in some cases I leave money ๐Ÿ’ต on the table. Automatic investing with low cost index funds remains key to sustainable wealth growth. I probably could live without my big jacked up truck ๐Ÿ›ป or my new mountain bike ๐Ÿšต or my guns I don’t use enough ๐Ÿ”ซ but I also don’t take flamboyant vacations in fancy hotels, I don’t have internet, cable or air conditioning at my run down apartment in the city and I use public transport to get work. I’m really putting away a good chunk of money for retirement – federal maximums for my Roth IRA, Deferred Comp and plus I got my pension and also buy $415 weekly of a variety of index and bond funds. The hell of it is my credit score is complete crap, below 800, because I have never borrowed money outside of my credit card — no student or auto loans ever, and I refused to allow the bank to set a credit limit above $5,000 — which means my credit utilization is relatively high at 10-15% each month. ๐Ÿ’ณ But hopefully if I ever need to use credit to buy land or something else, I can put the majority down in cash, so I don’t get bit through the nose ๐Ÿฝ for refusing to use credit through the years.

And reading this book, truth is though that I feel more then a little guilty spending so much money on a fancy new bike, though my old clunker would still be that even if I did finish the rebuild project. ๐Ÿšฒ I’m hoping to get a lot of use out of the bicycle to sure — already been thinking about some remote-country hammock camping, only reachable by bicycle trail come August. ๐Ÿคฏ Spent some time pondering what to do with my old bicycle — I’ll possibly continue the rebuild as I now have the back wheel back together, but I honestly don’t want to spend much more time or money on parts that now that I will soon have the Blackie. ๐Ÿ‘ฉ‍๐Ÿ”ง I think it’s in too rough of shape to be traded in with the fork a little rough and still some of the parts not reinstalled, but I’m kind of hoping that Albany Bicycle Rescue will take it as a donation. I have too much clutter, but I’d rather it get more use then take it to a scrap yard. ๐Ÿ‡ I probably eat some grapes and chickpeas for stress eating last night, but I did follow it by a walk, ๐Ÿ‘ฃ as the rain let up last night. Overall, despite eating a large dinner — I mostly eat too much fruit and vegetables, and some rather unhealthy small portion of chicken and rice, I did still walk 9 1/2 miles yesterday and plan to do hopefully 10 miles today, and 40 flights of stairs. I do worry about getting obese ๐Ÿคฐ though in the future should I fall off my rocker.

Tonight will rain likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 8pm, then a chance of rain and thunderstorm then a chance of of the storms could produce heavy rain. Mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒง, with a low of 62 degrees at 6am. One degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical night around July 9th. Maximum dew point of 67 at 6pm. Northwest wind 6 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. In 2022, we had mostly clear skies. It got down to 55 degrees. The record low of 48 occurred back in 1986.

On this day in 1890, Wyoming is admitted to the United States as the 44th US State. ๐Ÿค Many liberals regard that as a mistake, although it has some beautiful country out in Yellowstone and lots of oil and coal. ๐Ÿ›ข๏ธAnd in 1962, Telstar, the world’s first communication satellite is launched.๐Ÿ“ก It would be destroyed within a year or so due to above ground nuclear testing. People think it was radiation and human sickness ๐Ÿคฎ that lead to the above ground test ban ๐Ÿ’ฃ when it was really concerns about damage to military satellites. ๐Ÿ›ฐ

A very typical summer weekend ahead. Hot and humid, thunderstorm โ›ˆ threat all weekend. Saturday, a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 84. Chance of precipitation is 50%. โ˜€ Maximum dew point of 70 at 11am. Sunday, a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 85. Chance of precipitation is 50%. Maximum dew point of 70 at 11am. Typical average high for the weekend is 84 degrees.

Looks like a decent weekend. โ›บ I’m still thinking about heading out to Schoharie this weekend for riding the Catskill Scenic Trail, swimming ๐ŸŠ, the auto show at NY Power Authority. ๐Ÿš™ I might take off Monday if it’s nice. I kind of don’t like driving back to Betty Brook due to the tight campsite and rough roads with my big jacked up truck but I’m thinking Sunday night there is a good chance I could get the campsite either on West Kill Road or Cole Hollow. The prior would mean you could get an early start, head down to Stamford and Monday morning and do the leg of the trail from Stamford down to Bloomville. ๐Ÿšฒ Monday’s are usually easier to get off plus then it’s a four day week the next two weeks as I’m leaving for vacation on a Friday. Then the week after vacation is my dentist appointment ๐Ÿฆท not this week as I originally thought.

A lot of my weekend plans depends on when I take delivery of Blackie, ๐Ÿšฒ and when I get the kick stand, rack and crate on it. I decided I’ll add yellow reflective DOT tape to the rear and sides of the black crate and the rack to improve visibility when riding on the road. I found my old front and back lights, though I’m missing the mount for the rear one or more like I think it broke when I took it off the old bike a few weeks back when I was restoring it. Supposedly from the online inventory the bike store has the kick stand, the MIK rack and MIK connector plate as I’d like to have that all installed before I head out for the weekend, along with the bicycle registered and licensed with the town, photos and other information sent to my insurer.

Looking ahead, there are 6 weeks until World Mosquito Day ๐Ÿž when the sun will be setting at 7:50 pm with dusk at 8:18 pm. My gawd have they been bad at times lately in the woods, especially for the evening walk at Elm Ave Town Park. On that day in 2022, we had hot and muggy weather ๐Ÿ˜ฐ , partly sunny and temperatures between 88 and 70 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 82 degrees. The mosquitoes loved that. We hit a record high of 98 back in 1916.

May 3, 2023 Morning

One week until the average high is Seventy ๐Ÿ–

Not that it will feel anything like seventy degree weather today but it like next week will be far more seasonable.

Good morning! What day is it? The State Budget is Done Day, of course. ๐Ÿช Hump day and it feels good to be over the hump, knowing that there won’t be any really late nights anytime soon. Got home at 11:30 and that wasn’t so bad. And I’m up at six o’clock and out walking ๐Ÿšถ. Managed to get in 8.2 miles of steps in, working in steps into my day anyway possible. Sometimes the best thing to do is maintain a schedule and put one foot in front of the other.

Another really chilly start to the morning. Clouds and 42 degrees in Delmar, NY. โ˜๏ธ Calm wind. The skies will clear Friday around 4 am. Hey, at least it’s not raining this morning.

Today will have a chance of showers, mainly after 11am. Cloudy ๐ŸŒฆ, with a high of 52 degrees at 3pm. 15 degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around April 1st. Calm wind becoming southeast around 6 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. A year ago, we had cloudy skies in the morning with more sun in the afternoon. The high last year was 67 degrees. The record high of 89 was set in 2001. There was a dusting of snow in 1986.โ„

I think I’ll reheat those eggs I made up yesterday ๐Ÿณ and a fresh pot of coffee โ˜•. I have been drinking coffee more black these days as it’s healthier and gives more of a punch ๐Ÿ‘Š but I’ll probably use some skim milk with the hot coffee. Also want to cook up some rice ๐Ÿš or coos coos this morning for lunch and or future meals. ๐Ÿด

Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 12:53 pm with sun having an altitude of 63ยฐ from the due south horizon (-7.8ยฐ vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 3.1 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 7:18 pm with the sun in the west-northwest (286ยฐ). ๐Ÿ“ธ

The sunset is in the west-northwest (292ยฐ) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 7:58 pm after setting for 3 minutes and 7 seconds with dusk around 8:28 pm, which is one minute and 7 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ At dusk you’ll see the Full ๐ŸŒ Moon in the southeast (129ยฐ) at an altitude of 25ยฐ from the horizon, 242,709 miles away. ๐Ÿš€ The best time to look at the stars is after 9:07 pm. At sunset, look for rain ๐ŸŒง and temperatures around 50 degrees. There will be a north breeze at 5 mph. Today will have 14 hours and 13 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 27 seconds over yesterday.

Decided not to go to Queens night ๐Ÿ‘‘ last night as I wanted to avoid all the unhealthy calories. ๐Ÿ›ป Instead I went home and got Big Red and also stopped by the store and got grapes ๐Ÿ‡. Sweet table grapes are kind of candy but they are better than eating candy. ๐Ÿฌ Late nights are tough when you are used to going to bed ๐Ÿ› early and getting up early.

Tonight will have a chance of showers. Cloudy ๐ŸŒง, with a low of 43 degrees at 6am. One degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical night around May 2nd. North wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible. In 2022, we had light drizzle. It got down to 50 degrees. The record low of 28 occurred back in 1985.

A picture perfect spring weekend on tap. ๐Ÿ˜Ž Saturday, sunny, with a high near 64. Maximum dew point of 46 at 8pm. Sunday, partly sunny, with a high near 62. Maximum dew point of 43 at 11am. Typical average high for the weekend is 68 degrees.

A little on the cool side of things โ›บ but I’m thinking of taking a half day on Friday to get out of town. I’m still chewing over my options on where I want to go.

As a reminder, next Wednesday is Average High is 70 ๐Ÿฎ when the sun will be setting at 8:06 pm with dusk at 8:36 pm. The grass puppies and honestly myself likes that. On that day in 2022, we had sunny and temperatures between 77 and 39 degrees. We hit a record high of 92 back in 1970.
