The Albany County Rail Trail project is converting a nine-mile stretch of the old Delaware & Hudson (D&H) Railroad between the Port of Albany and Voorheesville to a public recreational trail.

Currently the sections from South End to Delmar is complete. The section from Delmar to Slingerlands is open to the public but unpaved. A section from Voorheesville to Font Grove Road. There is a gap between Font Grove Road and Slingerlands Firehouse in the trail, that is awaiting the reconstruction of NY 85 bridge to be open.

Once completed, the Rail Trail will link municipalities along a safe and accessible pedestrian and bicycle route. It will total nine miles from the South End of Albany to Voorheesville.
