Off to work this morning early on this final day of November

Up early, started my day with cranberry and banana oatmeal pancakes topped with a blend of frozen antioxidant fruits. Lots of coffee. Riding the bike to work one more day this week and I need to get in early as I have a project to do. Tomorrow starts December and it’s going to be a rainy one so no riding to work tomorrow.

Good morning! Where did November go? December is around the corner as is the 2024 year. Partly cloudy and 26 degrees at the Delmar, NY. β›… There is a south-southeast breeze at 6 mph. πŸƒ. Things will start to thaw out at around 9 am. 🌑️I’ll need my gloves 🧀 on the ride in.

It’s off to work to get that project done. 🚲 Pleasant morning for the bike ride but a bit gray. Figure I best enjoy it now before work moves to the suburbs, where I won’t be able to ride into, at least until there is light in the evening, as I can’t take the bike on the free shuttle bus. 🀷‍♂️

Today will be mostly sunny 🌞, with a high of 43 degrees at 1pm. Typical for today. South wind 6 to 10 mph. A year ago, we had light drizzle in the morning, which became light rain by afternoon. Kind of like tomorrow’s forecast though yesteryear was warmer. The high last year was 52 degrees. The record high of 67 was set in 1933. 7.1 inches of snow fell back in 1972.❄

Watched more Udemy videos last night πŸ“Ί learning more about machine learning πŸ€– and coding, went for an evening walk. πŸƒ‍♀️ That bean soup and bread was good, as was the spaghetti squash. 🍲 I have more to enjoy tonight, or I can finish off the rice tonight, as we’re going out to lunch today at work.

Solar noon 🌞 is at 11:45 am with sun having an altitude of 25.8° from the due south horizon (-45.1° vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 12.4 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour πŸ… starts at 3:40 pm with the sun in the southwest (233°). πŸ“Έ The sunset is in the west-southwest (241°) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 4:25 pm after setting for 3 minutes and 19 seconds with dusk around 4:54 pm, which is 23 seconds earlier than yesterday. πŸŒ‡ The best time to look at the stars is after 5:31 pm. At sunset, look for mostly clear skies πŸŒ„ and temperatures around 41 degrees. There will be a south breeze at 10 mph. Tomorrow will have 9 hours and 20 minutes of daytime, a decrease of one minute and 25 seconds over today.

Tonight will be mostly clear πŸŒƒ, with a low of 32 degrees at 5am. Five degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around November 16th. South wind 6 to 8 mph. I’ll take it, saves on the heat. In 2022, we had mostly clear skies in the evening, which became cloudy by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 32 degrees. The record low of -5 occurred back in 1875.

Clouds and rain this weekend. 🌧️ Hey, it could be snow. Saturday, a slight chance of rain. Cloudy, with a high near 48. South wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%. Sunday, a chance of showers after 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 44. Chance of precipitation is 30%. No ambitious plans for the weekend. Typical average high for the weekend is 43 degrees.

Looking ahead, there are 3 weeks until First Day of Winter β˜ƒοΈ when the sun will be setting at 4:26 pm with dusk at 4:56 pm. On that day in 2022, we had mostly sunny and temperatures between 34 and 16 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 37 degrees. We hit a record high of 62 back in 2018.

Riding downtown early on this TGIF 🚲

I was on the fence about riding in today but I figured it would save a buck thirty and I figured even if the weather is crap for the evening I’m not going to be riding home as it’s dark out.

Good morning! Yeah, it’s Friday! Partly cloudy and 46 degrees at the Empire State Plaza. β›… There is a south breeze at 13 mph. πŸƒ. Temperatures will drop below freezing at Monday around noontime. β˜ƒοΈ

That wind is really whipping around on the Plaza 🌬️ but the actual ride in was quite pleasant. I’d like to get in 10,000 steps for the day πŸ‘£ but that might be hard as I have a one o’clock meeting πŸ§‘β€πŸ’Ό and I’m not sure if it will be nice enough to walk in the evening. Plus it’s a Friday and I’m tired but the 7 ΒΎ mile bike ride from Delmar to the office downtown 🏒 and the eighteen flights of stairs to my office has to count for something.

Today will be partly sunny 🌞, with a high of 63 degrees at 1pm. 14 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around October 13th. Maximum dew point of 50 at 4pm. South wind 13 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies in the morning with some clearing in the afternoon. The high last year was 44 degrees. The record high of 73 was set in 1928. 2.8 inches of snow fell back in 1992.❄

That’s a pretty impressive forecast to start the day out, and it was worth it to ride in. 🚲 I was a bit hesitant as the weather is going to be cool and windy 🌬 come the evening as the front pushes through that will bring rain for SZ opening day 🦌 and I’m planning on bringing my laptop home, πŸ’» and hauling the day pack with the laptop carrying case plus loading my bike on the bus 🚌 can be a bit of a armful but I’ve done it before. Bike will ride good on the bus even if it’s windy I’m sure, as there is plenty of wind pushing on the bike every other day I ride the bus with my bike on the expressway.

Yesterday I got sweet onions πŸ§… and that was the first thing I chopped up this morning and fried up with spinach, mushrooms πŸ„ tomatoes πŸ… and eggs πŸ₯š. You know a good fiber and protein rich breakfast. 🍳 When I make up eggs, it’s rarely more than the eggs are glue to be used with all those delicious πŸ˜‹ vegetables.

Solar noon 🌞 is at 11:41 am with sun having an altitude of 28.4Β° from the due south horizon (-42.4Β° vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 11.1 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour πŸ… starts at 3:50 pm with the sun in the west-southwest (237Β°). πŸ“Έ The sunset is in the west-southwest (245Β°) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 4:32 pm after setting for 3 minutes and 13 seconds with dusk around 5:01 pm, which is 52 seconds earlier than yesterday. πŸŒ‡ At dusk you’ll see the First Quarter πŸŒ“ Moon in the south-southwest (198Β°) at an altitude of 18Β° from the horizon, 229,292 miles away. πŸš€ The best time to look at the stars is after 5:37 pm. At sunset, look for mostly cloudy skies ☁ and temperatures around 61 degrees. The dew point will be 50 degrees. Breezy, 18 mph breeze β›… from the south with gusts up to 30mph. Should be a pretty mild evening. But windy. Today will have 9 hours and 45 minutes of daytime, a decrease of 2 minutes and 6 seconds over yesterday.

Maybe I will be able to do an evening walk πŸšΆβ€β™€οΈ after all. I will see on how cold and windy it is out this afternoon. I might also walk down to the library, and play with remote sensing data down at the library. But first more of that pea soup 🍲 and homemade bread that I made up yesterday and proved to be a good dinner. Plus maybe I’ll fry up more apples 🍎 and bananas with that avocado oil πŸ₯‘ which is great because I can use a ton of heat to cook and brown things without reaching the smoke point.

Tonight will have showers, mainly before 5am. 🌧 Low of 46 degrees at 6am. 13 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around October 8th. South wind 8 to 16 mph becoming north after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 26 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible. In 2022, we had cloudy skies. It got down to 28 degrees. The record low of 10 occurred back in 1972.

Continuing that Udemy Course on Remote Sensing using the Semi Automatic Classification plugin πŸ—Ί. I’m not totally sure what I’m going to use my new found skills for but it’s something I’ve been interested in a while. πŸ–₯ Raster math is kind of fun and interesting, especially when you use R to do it. Indeed while I may learn with QGIS I’d probably end up using R just because it’s faster to write code then click on all those dialogs.

Tomorrow will have a chance of showers, mainly before 7am. Cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing 🌞, with a high of 49 degrees at 12pm. One degree above normal, which is similar to a typical day around November 16th. North wind 10 to 13 mph. Chilly with that wind though. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies in the morning with some clearing in the afternoon. The high last year was 43 degrees. The record high of 71 was set in 1928. 9.0 inches of snow fell back in 1980.❄

Doesn’t look like a real great Saturday, β›· but I might go to the Bethlehem Sports Mart that the Boy Scouts host at the High School and look at Cross Country Skis. Then maybe ride out to Voorheesville, just to check out the new Slingerlands temporary rail trail bridge, πŸŒ‰ and maybe get apples 🍏 at Indian Ladder and other things at Hannaford Voorheesville. I’ll still probably get up at 5 o’clock to bake bread πŸ₯–πŸž and Butternut Squash. πŸ†

Looking ahead to Sunday, a slight chance of showers before 1pm. 😎 Partly sunny, with a high near 47. Southwest wind 8 to 15 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Another cool day with the wind, but being SZ season, I’ll probably not wander too far out in the woods. 🦌 But maybe ride out to Five Rivers. And also run to the grocery store for the big weekly shop πŸ›’ . Chance of precipitation is 20%. Typical average high for the weekend is 48 degrees.

Looking ahead, next Friday is Buy Nothing Day πŸ›οΈ when the sun will be setting at 4:27 pm with dusk at 4:56 pm. On that day in 2022, we had partly sunny and temperatures between 49 and 24 degrees. I know you will miss all the sales but that plastic shit kind of stinks when you burn it. Typically, the high temperature is 46 degrees. We hit a record high of 70 back in 2014.

I’m still hoping to get out of town next Friday into next week β›Ί 🚡 but I’m watching the forecast and it seems like the Adirondacks might be getting it’s first good snow come the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. 🌨 It’s not to say I can’t hot tent though, as long as the snow banks aren’t too deep along NY 8. Maybe the bigger issue is that next weekend might be cold ❄ quite cold up north. It’s not the mercury I’m concerned about but if it’s windy out or not. That wind chill can really get to you.

Finished off the last of Annuto’s Cider Doughnuts this morning 🍩

Time goes by so quickly, already Thursday. I’ve been enjoying those half dozen cider doughnuts in moderation each day, as a treat each day. Not as good as when they were fresh but still pretty good.

Good morning! Happy Thursday. Mostly clear and 52 degrees in Delmar, NY. πŸŒ… Calm wind. The dew point is 46 degrees.

Not a bad sunrise πŸŒ… but late around 7:40 this morning. Watched a bit of it from one of the sods down the road. This morning cooking 🍳 up some eggs. Then it’s off to Thomas WV to ride some of the Blackwater Rail Trail and Forest Roads 🚲 and the Olson Fire Tower πŸ—Ό. Should be a great day!

Today will be partly cloudy with more clouds later πŸŒžπŸ‘‰ πŸŒ₯ , with a high of 69 degrees at 3pm. 11 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around September 28th. Maximum dew point of 56 at 5pm. South wind 3 to 7 mph. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies. It was somewhat humid. The high last year was 76 degrees. The record high of 78 was set in 1963. There was a dusting of snow in 1997.❄

Still having a lot of trouble updating the blog πŸ“Έ in part due to the spotty cell service here. πŸ“± I’m really kind of on the edge of the National Radio Quiet Zone πŸ“», most of the signal πŸ“Ά I’m getting is probably from Oakland Maryland bouncing through the mountains. β›° If I have time, πŸ•’ I guess I could stop by the library in Thomas to hop on the Wi-Fi there.

Solar noon 🌞 is at 12:40 pm with sun having an altitude of 35Β° from the due south horizon (-35.8Β° vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 8.6 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour πŸ… starts at 5:19 pm with the sun in the west-southwest (247Β°). πŸ“Έ The sunset is in the west-southwest (254Β°) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 6:28 pm after setting for 3 minutes and 1 seconds with dusk around 6:55 pm, which is one minute and 27 seconds earlier than yesterday. πŸŒ‡ At dusk you’ll see the Full 🌝 Moon in the east-southeast (101Β°) at an altitude of 15Β° from the horizon, 228,387 miles away. πŸš€ The best time to look at the stars is after 7:00 pm. At sunset, look for partly cloudy skies πŸŒƒ and temperatures around 67 degrees. The dew point will be 56 degrees. There will be a south-southeast breeze at 6 mph. Tomorrow will have 10 hours and 35 minutes of daytime, a decrease of 2 minutes and 39 seconds over today.

Tonight will be mostly cloudy πŸŒ₯, with a low of 50 degrees at 5am. 18 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around September 13th. Maximum dew point of 56 at 6pm. South wind around 6 mph. In 2022, we had cloudy skies in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It was somewhat humid. It got down to 43 degrees. The record low of 21 occurred back in 1950.

Back in 1970, Muhammad Ali faces off against Jerry Quarry in Atlanta, Georgia for the first time after Ali’s three-year hiatus from evading to be drafted in the Vietnam War. πŸ₯Š

Right now, a split verdict on the weekend. πŸ˜• Saturday, partly sunny, with a high near 67. Southwest wind 7 to 13 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Maximum dew point of 61 at 11am. Sunday, rain showers. High near 55. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Typical average high for the weekend is 57 degrees.

I am thinking πŸ’ tomorrow – Friday of visiting the Canaan Valley Wildlife Refuge 🐦 and hiking back to Dolly Sods from the refuge. This cuts a lot off the drive plus I’ve not seen that part of Dolly Sods, and probably not the as crowded as the Bears Rock 🐻 area. Then Saturday probably cross the Eastern Continental Divide down by Seneca Rocks and hike somewhere around there then north to Cumberland then probably Asaph Run Campground in Wellsboro and riding a few hours 🚲 on the Pine Creek Rail Trail before heading back home with a plan to arrive home by seven 7⃣ on Sunday. Already have clothes put out for work on Monday 🏒 but I want time to knead fresh bread and unpack some of my gear and shower up before bed. 🚿

Looking ahead, there are 4 weeks until Thanksgiving πŸ¦ƒ when the sun will be setting at 4:28 pm with dusk at 4:57 pm (Standard Time). On that day in 2022, we had partly cloudy and temperatures between 49 and 24 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 46 degrees. We hit a record high of 72 back in 1931.

Rensselear

Blustery, gray morning as Lee roars off the coast πŸŒ€

It’s not a real great weekend for camping but as they say, it beats being home. And it’s only a half hour drive home, fifteenth out to the folks house on Sunday. Gives me a chance for some hammock time and riding the dirt trails around. Probably they’re muddy though after such a wet late summer.

Good morning! Happy Saturday. Finally the weekend! Mostly cloudy and 53 degrees at the Rensselaerville State Forest. ☁ There is a northwest breeze at 15 mph. πŸƒ. The dew point is 44 degrees. The skies will clear around 4 pm.

Cool and rather blustery morning 🌬️ for camping up at State Forest. Got up around 6:30, made a breakfast of eggs 🍳 with spinach, onions, mushrooms and a whole wheat crust. Just flour and water, would have added salt but I didn’t bring that and I’ve been overdoing the salt lately after backing away from it. Trying to find balance. βš–

Today will become partly sunny 🌞, with a high of 65 degrees at 4pm. Timing all depends on how fast the hurricane pushes off the shore. πŸŒ€ 10 degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around October 7th. Maximum dew point of 47 at 2pm. Northwest wind 15 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies. The high last year was 71 degrees. The record high of 92 was set in 1939.

Left work around 4 pm taking the express bus 🚍 home, filling the cooler and getting out to Rennselearville State Forest around 5:45. I probably could have left at five but it was nice to be set up well before dark. Leaving at five would have been pushing it with daylight to gather firewood and set up camp. β›Ί Turned out to be a very starry night ✨ but a bit cool so I spent it huddled over the fire. I wanted to get away but not so far out of town as possibly next weekend I’ll head up north.

Solar noon 🌞 is at 12:53 pm with sun having an altitude of 50.2Β° from the due south horizon (-20.7Β° vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 5 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour πŸ… starts at 6:30 pm with the sun in the west (268Β°). πŸ“Έ The sunset is in the west (275Β°) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 7:07 pm after setting for 2 minutes and 54 seconds with dusk around 7:33 pm, which is one minute and 47 seconds earlier than yesterday. πŸŒ‡ At dusk you’ll see the Waxing Crescent πŸŒ’ Moon in the west (261Β°) at an altitude of 3Β° from the horizon, 247,447 miles away. πŸš€ The best time to look at the stars is after 8:09 pm. At sunset, look for partly clear skies πŸŒ„ and temperatures around 60 degrees. The dew point will be 46 degrees. Breezy, 16 mph breeze β›… from the northwest. Today will have 12 hours and 30 minutes of daytime, a decrease of 2 minutes and 51 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will be mostly clear πŸŒƒ, with a low of 45 degrees at 6am. Seven degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical night around October 4th. Northwest wind 10 to 16 mph. In 2022, we had mostly clear skies in the evening, which became cloudy by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 51 degrees. The record low of 32 occurred back in 1959.

Looking ahead, there are 7 weeks until Daylight Savings Time Ends πŸŒ₯ when the sun will be setting at 5:48 pm with dusk at 6:16 pm. Seems much too soon 😒. On that day in 2022, we had sunny, warm and temperatures between 71 and 46 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 54 degrees. We hit a record high of 76 back in 1994. I’m thinking after the time change I can still ride to work some days and then put my bike 🚲 on the bus 🚍 for the ride home.

Seagulls

With the oatmeal pancakes off on this mid-September morning πŸ₯ž

The sun is rising and it’s going to be a nice day. While I prefer to walk before eating breakfast it’s too dark now. Just got to moderate the coffee.

Good morning! Happy Thursday. Partly sunny and 55 degrees in Delmar, NY. πŸŒ… Calm wind. The dew point is 52 degrees.

Well rested, feeling good this morning. πŸ› This week on many levels has been a struggle but the good sleep and sun with low humidity this morning helps a lot. Much more energy ⚑ this morning and less achy compared to a rainy day like yesterday. Trying to cut back on the coffee β˜• in the morning, even though I get up early and drink more water πŸ₯› in the evening like the doctor says. πŸ§‘β€βš•οΈ

Today will be mostly sunny 🌞, with a high of 70 degrees at 2pm. Five degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around September 26th. Maximum dew point of 54 at 9am. Light northwest wind increasing to 5 to 10 mph in the morning. Relief from last week’s humidity. A year ago, we had cloudy skies in the morning with more sun in the afternoon. The high last year was 79 degrees. The record high of 93 was set in 1931.

Should be a great day, 🚲 looking forward to the bike ride to work today. I think with the chain πŸ”— well lubricated and the gears indexed βš™ it should be a nice commute. None of that sitting in the shitty traffic yesterday on the bus 🚍 just waiting to get home. 🏑 Heck of it is by afternoon it wasn’t bad out and I probably could have almost beat the bus home on my bicycle and gotten free exercise to boot. πŸ‘’

Solar noon 🌞 is at 12:52 pm with sun having an altitude of 50.9Β° from the due south horizon (-20Β° vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 4.9 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour πŸ… starts at 6:32 pm with the sun in the west (269Β°). πŸ“Έ The sunset is in the west (276Β°) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 7:09 pm after setting for 2 minutes and 55 seconds with dusk around 7:36 pm, which is one minute and 47 seconds earlier than yesterday. πŸŒ‡ The best time to look at the stars is after 8:11 pm. At sunset, look for clear skies πŸŒ„ and temperatures around 63 degrees. The dew point will be 49 degrees. There will be a northwest breeze at 10 mph. Today will have 12 hours and 36 minutes of daytime, a decrease of 2 minutes and 51 seconds over yesterday.

Remembered last night that I had egg plant πŸ† in the fridge so with mini onions and potatoes, πŸ₯” and the last of the olive oil plus some garlic and seasoning made up a good dinner in the broiler. Last night I pulled salmon out of the freezer and that should be defrosted for dinner tonight. Also cooking down kidney beans this morning for dessert or maybe just a side this evening. Also good go bring up to camp this weekend. 🍚

Tonight will be mostly clear πŸŒƒ, with a low of 49 degrees at 6am. Four degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical night around September 24th. Northwest wind 5 to 9 mph. Temperatures in the forties are a true sign of autumn coming. . In 2022, we had mostly clear skies in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 51 degrees. The record low of 33 occurred back in 1975.

Tonight it’s off to Walmart and get supplies πŸ›’ and rack up more on my credit card πŸ’³ after retiring the debt this week. Really need more good fitting jeans πŸ‘– now that the weather is cooling, refill my pantry πŸ₯« and look at food processors as my mini chopper after working a bit more has quit again. I’ve been overloading it I think, I really need something more powerful especially when I’m grinding and milling so many foods. Plus soon after I go apple 🍏 picking with dad I’m going to need to be able to process a lot of apples.

Cloudy β›… and blustery come the weekend especially Saturday from the hurricane πŸŒ€ off the coast. Saturday, mostly cloudy, with a high near 71. Northwest wind 14 to 16 mph. Maximum dew point of 51 at 12pm. Sunday, mostly sunny, with a high near 76. Maximum dew point of 56 at 4pm. Typical average high for the weekend is 75 degrees.

It’s been quite a week β›Ί and I’m looking forward to getting out of town for a couple of days even if it’s going to be quite a windy day on Saturday and cloudy, maybe a bit cool. But I just need some quiet and time away from all this crap πŸ’© of the week that was. Then I guess apple 🍏 picking with my parents on Sunday.

Falls Pond Creek

A quick pot of oatmeal, a shower and finishing up packing and I’m off. β›Ί

Samdil Farm, Walmart, Roger’s Orchard, set up camp, swim and ride is the plan for today. Got to maximize it as tomorrow still looks fairly wet.

Good morning! Happy Thursday. Mostly cloudy and 67 degrees in Delmar, NY. ☁ There is a south breeze at 6 mph. πŸƒ. The dew point is 65 degrees. The skies will clear around 1 pm.

Quick breakfast πŸ₯£ of overnight oatmeal which doesn’t require any cooking and blueberries with yogurt and cold coffee β˜•. Finish packing up now and get on the road early. Looking forward to some good sweet corn 🌽 and peaches πŸ‘ up at camp and floating on the tube β•. Looking forward to getting away from it for a while before a five day work week where I’ll be filling in for the role of the unit director in my office 🏒.

Today will have a slight chance of showers between 1pm and 2pm, then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Patchy fog before 7am. Otherwise, partly sunny 🌞, with a high of 80 degrees at 4pm. Two degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around August 28th. Maximum dew point of 69 at 11am. South wind 6 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies in the morning, which became thunderstorm by afternoon. It was somewhat humid. The high last year was 78 degrees. The record high of 97 was set in 1913.

I decided against bringing the kayak πŸ›Ά as between swimming 🏊, hiking 🚢 and riding Blackie 🚡 I’ll have plenty to do. I don’t really feel that much like paddling in the Mohawk River and I’ve done the East Canada Creek a million times in the kayak. I’d rather just set up at House Pond Campsite β›Ί and float in the tube β• from there.

Solar noon 🌞 is at 1:00 pm with sun having an altitude of 60.9Β° from the due south horizon (-10Β° vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 3.3 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour πŸ… starts at 7:18 pm with the sun in the west-northwest (283Β°). πŸ“Έ The sunset is in the west-northwest (289Β°) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 7:56 pm after setting for 3 minutes and 4 seconds with dusk around 8:24 pm, which is one minute and 30 seconds earlier than yesterday. πŸŒ‡ At dusk you’ll see the Waxing Crescent πŸŒ’ Moon in the west (280Β°) at an altitude of 4Β° from the horizon, 251,522 miles away. πŸš€ The best time to look at the stars is after 9:03 pm. At sunset, look for rain 🌧 and thunderstorms 🌩 and temperatures around 76 degrees. The dew point will be 67 degrees. There will be a south-southeast breeze at 9 mph. Today will have 13 hours and 53 minutes of daytime, a decrease of 2 minutes and 35 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will have a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 8pm, then a slight chance of showers between 8pm and 11pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 11pm. Mostly cloudy 🌧, with a low of 66 degrees at 6am. Five degrees above normal. Maximum dew point of 68 at 6pm. South wind around 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible. In 2022, we had light rain in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It was somewhat humid. It got down to 61 degrees. The record low of 40 occurred back in 1981.

Tomorrow showers and thunderstorms likely before 2pm, then a chance of showers. β˜” Mostly cloudy, with a high near 77. Southeast wind 7 to 14 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between three quarters and one inch possible.

Not gonna to be a real nice day πŸ“™ but I have several books to read and I’ll have the heater in case I get chilled through. Do some cooking and handing out at camp. 🍳 Probably can still do some hikes or riding Blackie 🚡 along Piseco-Powley as it doesn’t look to be a complete soaker of a day.

On this day in 1977, the Soviet icebreaker Arktika becomes the first surface ship to reach the North Pole. πŸ’ˆAnd in 1982, the first Compact Discs (CDs) are released to the public in Germany. πŸ’Ώ Seems like such an obsolete technology now with streaming.

Right now, a split verdict on the weekend. πŸ˜• Saturday, a slight chance of showers before 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 70. West wind around 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%. Maximum dew point of 57 at 12pm. Sunday, sunny, with a high near 83. Maximum dew point of 63 at 7pm. Typical average high for the weekend is 82 degrees.

The weekend looks much better β˜€ but Saturday might be too cold for swimming 🏊 but excellent weather for riding Piseco-Powley or may be Old Edick Road with Blackie 🚡. Could be muddy though on Old Edick. But also I just like laying in the hammock watching the clouds πŸŒ₯ float on by.

One month πŸ“… from now will be Constitution Day πŸ“œ when the sun will be setting at 7:03 pm with dusk at 7:30 pm. The average high temperature is 34 degrees, with a record high of 61 in 1895.
