Good evening! Partly cloudy and 69 degrees in Delmar, NY. Calm wind. The dew point is 62 degrees. You can see the starts tonight but by one or two AM the rain will start from Hurricane Nate and be gone almost as quickly as it came by mid-day tomorrow.

The morning was wet, then it cleared, and then it got cloudy mid-day. I ended up hiking Bennett Hill today as you can see from the pictures. I have several more

New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible. A year ago, we had mostly cloudy skies. The high last year was 60 degrees. The record high of 83 was set in 1949. There was a dusting of snow in 2000.

Next weekend looks to be quite warm with temperatures running 12 degrees above normal. Next Saturday, mostly sunny, with a high near 73. Maximum dew point of 56 at 1pm. Next Sunday, partly sunny, with a high near 73. Maximum dew point of 60 at 2pm. Typical average high for the weekend is 61 degrees.

That sure looks like a nice weekend. Maybe if the weather is nice enough, I will do my West Virigina trip then. I think next week’s very long forecast looks warm and dry — which may be good that we are getting the soaking rains from Hurricane Nate over the next few days, because we have been in a pretty good dry spell lately. Don’t want to have an autumn drought if we can avoid it. The leaves apparently haven’t turned much in West Virigina because it’s been warm and dry, although by mid-week with the cooler temperatures there might be some color if they aren’t all dried up and washed away by next week.

In four weeks on November 5 the sun will be setting at 4:42 pm (Standard Time), which is one hour, 41 minutes and 12 seconds earlier then tonight. In 2016 on that day, we had mostly cloudy skies and temperatures between 57 and 32 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 52 and 34 degrees. The record high of 75 degrees was set back in 1994.

Looking ahead, Average High is 60 is in 1 weeks, Daylight Savings Time Ends is in 4 weeks, Cold Moon is in 8 weeks and New Years Eve is in 12 weeks.
