November 8, 2016 Morning

Good morning! Talk about a beautiful Election Day. Sunny and 42 degrees in North Syracuse. Calm wind. Today will have increasing clouds, with a high of 64 degrees at 2pm. 13 degrees above normal. Light and variable wind.Β You don’t get many days this nice in November. Last year, mostly sunny with a high around 54. Which isn’t bad, but nothing like today. The record high of 75 was set in 1975.

There was 1.7 inches of snow back in 1894. Back before women could vote, much less run for President and win. I ‘m pretty excited about Hillary’s likely win, not because I’m thrilled for her, but because she will be such a role model for all the young women in our country. It will mean we are breaking the glass ceiling. Not that I’m expecting any big changes between now and next year.

The sun will set at 4:46 pm with dusk around 5:16 pm, which is 1 minutes and 7 seconds earlier than yesterday. Today will have 9 hours and 56 minutes of daylight, a decrease of 2 minutes and 24 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will have showers, mainly after 9pm. Low of 45 degrees at 6am. 11 degrees above normal. Southwest wind 3 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible. One year ago, mostly clear with a low around 29. The record low of 11 occurred back in 1971.

Next Tuesday is America Recycles Day when the sun will be setting at 4:39 pm with dusk at 5:10 pm. The average high temperature is 48 degrees, with a record high of 74 in 1993.
