Moss Lake [PDF] [PNG]

Map uploaded on May 5, 2017.

This small lake, nestled at the foot of a steep mountain, has seven designated campsites along its eastern shore and is encircled by an old bridle trail. It provides a beautiful and quiet half day paddle. Be on the lookout for nesting osprey and loons. From downtown Inlet, take Route 28 south one mile and then go right onto Big Moose Road. Travel three miles to the parking area on your left. The put-in is 1/10th of a mile along a short, flat hike to the right around the pond at the NYS DEC ADA access dock and beach site. Two campsites are designated as accessible, each is complete with a picnic table, privy, fire ring and tent pad. An observation deck with built-in benches located on the lake shore can be reached by the accessible trail providing a spectacular view of the lake.
