After hiking in the Normans Kill Gorge, I was curious about the old routing of Glenmont Road and South Pearl Street.
While many of grade crossings had been removed at that point, the highway including bridges were only two lanes as the wound through the Tioga State Forest. South of Mansfield, the highway was at grade.
The truth is the LD 39 would have been a tough one, but the County Dems (and Dem committee petitioners) really dropped the ball on this one.
Sitterly Road, while mostly used for Clifton Park Center and bypassing the busy Clifton Park Boulevard, actually has a very long history as seen on this 1893 topographic map.
