March 2016 was quite mild with a record breaking 81 degrees on March 9th. It was followed by a nice, warm sunny weekend which I spent in Schoharie County camping along the Betty Brook at Burnt-Rossman State Forest.🔥

Somebody built this bridge during hunting season over the Betty Brook. 🦌 It didn’t last until the next summer though, burnt for firewood. Probably the DEC wasn’t pleased about the bridge 🌉 over this stream either.

A year ago, we had cloudy skies, clearing in the afternoon. The high last year was 37 degrees. The record high of 72 was set in 1977. 5.7 inches of snow fell back in 1964.❄

The coffee is almost ready on the stove☕. I am going to have a cup or two, have some blueberry muffins and get started on my day. With the time change, I want to get early to bed tonight so it’s easier getting used to the time change 💤.

As previously noted, next Saturday is Saint Patricks Day ☘️ when the sun will be setting at 7:04 pm with dusk at 7:32 pm (Daylight Savings Time). Bad day for drunk driving. 🍻It’s really unfortunate how a celebration of Irish pride descends down to an excuse for intoxicatiom. On that day in 2017, we had sunny skies and temperatures between 40 and 16 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 45 degrees. We hit a record high of 75 back in 1990.
