I think bicycling 🚴 would be so much healthier if I can figure what is a reliable bike. I also have to get my inspection done next month.

I am thinking about now Voting on Election Day πŸ—³ or at least dropping off my absentee ballot there. It turns out that this year my polling place is right next door to my bus stop 🚍 and I usually end up going downtown on Tuesdays so that might be the best option for me.

I struggle not to get involved in the bigotry and hatred I see on Facebook every day. 😑I hate the over simplistic viewpoints not based on science or evidence that are too common in politics today.πŸ™ˆ I know I should just scroll past those posts as arguing won’t change anybody’s minds. Obnoxious liberals are going to just be that. 🐐

Definitely a foggy 🌁 morning but it should be a nice day. Maybe a tad bit humid by afternoon. Out for my morning walk 🚢 after getting up at five o’clock and doing minimal cooking 🍳my standards lately – eggs with all the vegetables and spices. Putting some ginger and cinnamon in the coffee β˜• really spiced things up. Then I’ll shower 🚿 and head out on the trail.

I’ve decided to have an O-K day today. 🚲 Spending my day in Kinderhook, going to ride the Albany Hudson Electric Trail, visit the grounds of Martin Van Buren Historical Site, get apples and stuff at Golden Harvest Farms and who knows what else. Maybe explore the Charles Flood WMA first thing on the Hudson River or the Oom Preserve later on. At 3 pm to 4 pm I have a work zoom meeting and then I need to run to Colonie Planning Board for a scoping hearing about the proposed solar farm in the Pine Bush. Figure start in Stuyvesant Falls and ride north so the trip back is mostly down hill. Lots of options is how I look at it for a nice day.

New York, let’s go chase that ducking money as the Indians swelter in the summer πŸ—½πŸ’΅

Technically it’s not Indian summer until we have a cool period though I guess you could call all of August really cool and Labor Day came and went, with all that is left is the work, the traffic and the bills in these inflationary times.

Big pots of rice-lentils along with a pot of red kidney beans 🍲 is simmering down on the stove, already had my first cup of coffee β˜• and out for the morning walk 🚢. On my way home from the Adirondacks I stopped and stocked up my pantry πŸ›’ as there was a lot of missing things and I always like to have my pantry full of complete meals 🍴 that provide all the nutriental essentials. 🍏

Going to ride to work today 🚡 but I expect to take the express bus 🚍 back home as it’s going to be a hot one. 😰 The ride downtown is a lot easier then the ride back, bar of course the Madison Avenue Hill. I won’t mind moving to the Erie Boulevard office 🏒 when it comes to the hill eventually. No idea when.

It was a nice Labor Day Weekend πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ even if all that’s left now is memories and labor. Backgrounds and cap grants need reviewing, emails replied to. Work picnic on Thursday, I’m going to see if I can work from home that morning so I can get sweet corn 🌽 to bring to the picnic and maybe cook up some beans with the maple syrup 🍁 and smoked salt.

Yesterday I rode the larger Spectulator Tree Farm bicycle 🚲 loop ➿ around Elm Lake and across the Long Level, down Fly Creek Road to Old 8B. Added a slight addition of Austin Falls and Robbs Creek to the loop. Nice ride, took it slow on some of the hills but that’s rust low gear βš™ is for. Then went for a brief swim πŸŠβ€β™‚οΈ at the Spectulator Beach πŸ– and then a paddle πŸ›Ά down the Sacandaga River until around 6 pm before changing out of my bathing suit, tying up the kayak and making the long slog home 🏑.
