Snowshoeing with Dog at Partridge Run.
Snowshoeing from Bradt Hollow Road to Beaver Road Upper Pond via Ski Trail.
January 24, 2010.
During the middle of January I decided to go out snowshoeing with my dog at Partridge Run. It was a pleasant afternoon, although it was rapidly being cast over shadows off the setting sun. I went from Bradt Hollow Road to Beaver Road via the ski trail.
Here is the sign for Beaver Road at the intersection of the North and South Spurs to Bradt Hollow Road. I parked down by the Southern spur, the Northern Spur takes you up a hill and out by the old Bradt Hollow Road Cemetery.
The dog tags along behind the snowshoes. By the end of the evening, he was limping along in the deep snow.
The sun was setting fast as we reached an unamed pond / swamp made up of a man-made dike. We where most of the way out to Beaver Road.
The hill on the very rough Beaver Road was nothing but a snowmobile trail. We could hear a snowmobile in the distance.
Reaching Upper Pond on Beaver Road in the darkness of deep January winter.
The dog's leg with arthirist was starting to bother him, so we frequently had to stop. Heading back to the truck as it got really dark out there.
Here is the route we took.
