Mondays

Notes on Mondays. Not all Mondays are bad days, and some are quite good. Often a review of the weekend’s past events and what to look forward to in the coming week.

Monday Comes Back Around

Good Morning! Happy Monday. Another β€œspring” morning with the temperatures in the upper teens. With the bright March sun, it seems much warmer then it really is. Enjoy the winter before it turns to balmy hot summer weather, which is bound to happen any day now. As we all know, it is typical to have extremely below average weather in Albany in spring, until we have extremely above average weather. 80 degrees in March or early April is not fun.

Good Morning! Happy Monday.

And so the song and dance comes back around. Weekends never seem to last that long, but I guess that is a good thing because we are now two weekends left before April.

Snow may not be gone as early this year as previous years, but every day that goes by, it’s gets harder for the weather to stay cold. The solar radiation of the sun is increasing every day, and today the length of daylight equals the length of darkness. Now every day until early October, there will be more sunlight then darkness every night.

The warm days and nights of summer can’t be long away.

Back to yet another Monday. But the springtime is one week closer.

Good Morning! Happy Monday.

Last week’s long week lead to a weekend that came and gone much too fast. And now we are up an earlier for work with daylight savings time. Maybe this is a sign of spring, at least after the mid-week blizzard or snowstorm or rain, whatever the ultimate forecast works out to be.

A very gray and dark morning this morning. It wouldn’t have been that bad of start getting up an hour earlier, had the sun been out. Tomorrow is supposed to be a lot more sunny then today – and maybe a bit warm.

Sunrise at the Campsite

March is the busiest time at work for me, well except maybe for June and October. But it’s good to be busy during March as it makes the time go by faster. I will be glad when March is over an the nicer weather of April is upon us. I don’t expect much greening up until May at the earliest, but it does who we are well onto the way to the good weather of spring.

Three more weekends left until April for what it’s worth.

It's a Monday after a weekend that was much too short. But we are moving in the right direction towards April and camping season.

Good Morning! Happy Monday.

As they say, the week comes around again on the calender. For a winter’s weekend, it wasn’t too bad, although nothing like a good summer weekend getting out of town. Kind of a cold and bleak weekend for sure, although on Saturday I did out to the Albany Pine Bush for about an hour after doing some shopping for work clothes.

Today’s record high is 62 degrees in 2002 and the record low is -10. We were much closer to the record low, with temperatures dropping to about -2 last night. I think the peak temperature will be about 15 degrees, which is far below the 40 degrees we should be expecting for this time of year. I didn’t bother to wash my truck this week, as it’s going to be so cold that the salt being left on the truck for another week shouldn’t be a big deal — but I certainly will wash it next weekend after it warms up.

I have ordered but not received a scarf and a dressier hat to wear out at the bus stop. I have my blaze orange hat that I wear while hiking during hunting season, but previously I just wore my parka with a mis-matched hood until that broke.

As they say, it's come around on the calender once again. While a pretty uninteresting weekend, we are getting one week closer to springtime and all those fun weekends.
