I was looking at this map and never realized how close much of North Idaho is to Spokane, Washington. I bet that is some of the appeal of state, especially the mountainous, rural and remote conservative country of that part of the nation. I am playing with interactive map, it's kind of fascinating.

Looking at the VIIRS satellite imagery taken yesterday showing the west coast wildfires. While it's true the air quality has improved with the low pressure moving off the cost and high pressure, low humidity, you can still the smoke up in the higher parts of the sky today, and there is still a lot of smoke being generated out west.
