Didn’t do any fishing tonight, as the river is very shallow where I’m camping, especially now at low tide. But I did enjoy quite a bit of time down at the river with my feet in the river. I’m tired, so I’m off to bed early tonight. Good night.

Looking ahead, Sugar Cookie Day is in 3 weeks, Citizenship Day is in 13 weeks and New Years Eve is in 28 weeks.

It is going to be warm the next few days but then seasonable to bit cool for the second half of the week. Definitely not much rain in the forecast except maybe thunderstorms on Monday.

June 18, 2016 Night

With my lawn chair sitting in the sand of the Hudson River watching the sun set, it is clear and 73 degrees in Stockport Flats. There is a west-southwest breeze at 3 mph. The dew point is a comfortable 53. We have a heat index around 77. The tide is slowly but definitely coming in. Waiting for nautical twilight to see the stars over the Hudson River. Then the flag, which is hung along the mighty Hudson will light up.

Tonight will be partly cloudy, with a low around 58. Typical for tonight. South wind 3 to 7 mph. The record low of 38 occurred back in 1950.

I love summer…

Road Work

I get tired of people complaining about America’s crumbling infrastructure.Β It seems like every road and bridge locally is under construction — and not just blacktopping, but massive reconstruction projects.

If people are saying roads are too bumpy, maybe they need to replace their shocks or struts or upgrade to a car with a better suspension.

Setting up camp and just waiting for later when the sun rises in the sky. Not the most remote camp ground ever but it’s nice to get away for at least a night. A lot of noise from the power boats as they go by.
