Coolige State Forset

Approximately 20,000 acres Coolidge State Forest/Plymsbury Wildlife Management Area is most noted for its mountainous terrain, expansive forestland, and wetlands. Elevations range between 1,900 and 4,235 feet and include a “high peaks” area with Killington Peak (at 4,235’ Vermont’s second highest peak), Litt le Killington (3,939’), Shrewsbury (3,720’), Mendon (3,840’), and Smith (3,220’) peaks.

The Coolidge/Plymsbury area forms a “bridge”
along the spine of the Green Mountains that
connects the Green Mountain National Forest lands to the north and south. It provides opportunities for low intensity recreational activities including hiking, hunting, primitive camping, and crosscountry skiing, and more intensive recreational opportunities such as down-hill skiing (Killington) or snowmobiling.
