This map shows the March 2016 unemployment rate for all counties in New York State, along with all cities and towns with a population greater then 20,000 residents. By clicking on the individual towns, cities, or counties, you can see monthly non-seasonally adjusted unemployment statistics from January 2015 to present, along with the change in the unemployment rate between March 2015 and March 2016, along with 2015 unemployment averages.
This data becomes available from the NYS Department of Labor on the 20th of each month for the previous month. Replacing the PDF maps of earlier months, I will be making these interactive maps going forward.
All data are from the NYS Local Area Unemployment Statistics (LAUS) program. https://labor.ny.gov/stats/lslaus.shtm
The entire NYS State Local Area Unemployment Statistics dating back to 1990 (and 1976 regionally) are avaliable by downloading this ZIP file containing several spreadsheets. https://labor.ny.gov/stats/laus.zip
