Good evening! Fog and 71 degrees in Delmar. There is a south breeze at 6 mph. The dew point is 69 degrees. The skies will clear tomorrow around 2 am. It’s incredibly stick out. With the air conditioning on in my truck I had trouble keeping the windows free of fog. Packing tonight for my road trip I got soaked in the dew. It wet outside for sure.

Tomorrow I’m leaving for the Allegheny National Forest and then Monday out to Presque Isle to watch the eclipse and go swimming. That didn’t happen over summer vacation but I decided with this break of weather to take 3 days before the end of summer. The eclipse glasses came in the mail this afternoon and for that I am very grateful. Had they not come today I probably wouldn’t have been able to witness the eclipse directly and this whole trip would have had a very different flavor. Tuesday I’ll probably overnight in the Finger Lakes and come back late Wednesday to Albany. It’s not a full vacation but some time off when I should finally have decent weather. I like seeing Pennsylvania and maybe some of Western NY.

In four weeks on September 15 the sun will be setting at 7:04 pm, which is 47 minutes and 27 seconds earlier then tonight. The record high of 92 degrees was set back in 1915.

Looking ahead, September 1st is in 2 weeks and Autumn Begins is in 5 weeks.
