For Easter Weekend I spent a cold weekend camping up on the East Branch Sacandaga River at Campsite 5. Some of the things I've been thinking about, like buying land and building an off-grid cabin along with other random happenings at camp.

A very cold but sunny Good Friday camping up on the East Branch Sacanadaga River. Got stuck briefly driving up the driveway, but once I got camp underway things were great. Some thoughts about my future among other things.

Planning a Homestead Using GIS
While this is more of an ArcGIS tutorial it has many ideas you can use with QGIS or your favorite GIS program. Some basics on digital elevation models and using raster math. Might even be better to do programmatically with R!
