The color television assures us that April showers bring May flowers. 🌷🌻🌼 I'll believe it when I see it, though there are definite hints of the green up -- grass is looking greener in the city, some bushes are starting to bloom and there are signs of the days to come. Days have gotten longer, windows open and it's generally just nicer then not that long ago.

Staying for my parents final years πŸ§“πŸ»πŸ‘΄πŸΌ

While I’m thinking about moving out of state, I really am not sure I want to before my parents pass away. Much like I’ve gotten once again to enjoy their Sunday dinners, despite my reservations about the health benefits, I realize that the time is short in their lives. To reject such things would be foolishness as time is so short. Likewise I want to spend as much time with them, learning whatever I can, helping them however I can before it’s over.

When I leave for my future home for good, I don’t plan on ever coming back – including for funerals. I want to look at Albany one last time and say that chapter of my life is over for good. The thing is if I move out of state, I’ll probably never see my parents again. And I enjoy every precious moment with them because I know it won’t be much longer. Things will be ordinary one day and then they will be gone. There will be a funeral and time will move on. That’s a good time after the funeral to think about leaving.

On the Edge of Storm King

The storm king highway has many sweeping curves and cuts into the mountain. It wouldn't comply with modern highway standards but is pretty remarkable to look at.

In dense urban areas like the City of Albany there are fewer but taller buildings compared to the suburbs were single family homes dominate.
