Hiked the rail trail from Slingerlands Firehouse🚒 to Voorheesville Train Park,🚂 nine miles round trip. 🏃

George Washington has been dead for a long time. I think we should replace his Washington’s Birthday holiday with one honoring Trump’s Birthday, because I want a three day weekend during the third week of June each year. Monday holidays in the summer are quite nice and by mid June the black flies start to thin out.

Granted, I could see the Democrats not going along with creating a holiday to honor President Trump. So to get 60 votes to replace Washington’s Birthday with Trump’s birthday, Congress will have to compromise with Chuck Schumer.

So we will have to create a second federal holiday called, Barack Obama’s birthday. This holiday will be the first Monday of August. What a great way to kick off the dog days of summer, honoring our great President Obama with friends and family, enjoying a nice cold one or two. Everybody wins!

Today will be mostly sunny, with a high of 40 degrees at 2pm. 🌞🌞🌞Five degrees above normal. Northwest wind 10 to 14 mph. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies with more clouds in the afternoon. ☁The high last year was 52 degrees. The record high of 63 was set in 1981. 6.3 inches of snow fell back in 2000.

Today’s plans include going grocery shopping,🍎🍳🍲🍣 possibly fixing the ground wire on my truck cap, going for a hike🏃 and then later on soldering together the connectors for my GPS logger. 🔬📺I haven’t yet decided where I will go but I may go out hiking first before showering because I’m thinking with the fresh snow and the warmer weather things may be muddy.🐷🐷Maybe I’ll stick to the rail trail a walk to Voorheesville might be nice. 

As previously noted, there are 2 weeks until Average High is 40 ♨when the sun will be setting at 5:49 pm with dusk at 6:17 pm. Seems like a joke with the warm weather expected this week. On that day in 2017, we had partly cloudy skies and temperatures between 23 and 8 degrees. We hit a record high of 59 back in 1919.
