So the $8 GPS Neo-6M sensor I bought and plan to start playing with tonight for my next project is accurate in providing your location within 2 meters or 6.5 feet. They also make a fair bit more expensive Precise Point Positioning (PPP) version that can locate your location often down to a few centimeters.

Back when Albert Eisenstein released his theory of relativity, I bet he would have never realized that he had found the answer to one of man’s great problems — where am I? It’s been less then 20 years since consumer GPS has even been a thing.

So I’m researching car window tinting plastic as a cheaper, more flexible alternative to tinted plexiglass in one of my electronics projects.๐Ÿ”ณ๐Ÿ”ฒ I can only imagine the ads Google will start serving up to me now!๐Ÿ˜ฎ

February 3, 2018 Morning

Good morning! Bye, Bye, Miss American Pie. 🎶🎤Today is the day when 59 years ago when the Big Bobber, Ritchie Valens and Buddy Holly died in a plane crash โœˆin Clear Lake, Iowa. 😰It’s Day the Music Died. Partly sunny and 15 degrees in Delmar, NY. โ˜€There is a south-southwest breeze at 9 mph. The current wind chill is -2. Cold.

🐣Only 45 days remain until the first day of calendar spring! There is hope that winter will come to an end.🐰

Today will be partly sunny, โ˜€with a high of 26 degrees at 4pm. Six degrees below normal. Southwest wind 9 to 11 mph. A year ago, we had partly cloudy skies with more clouds in the afternoon. The high last year was 30 degrees.👕 The record high of 57 was set in 2016. 6.1 inches of snow fell back in 2004.

🚘”I started singing, bye bye Ms. American Pie. Drove the Chevy to the levy but the levy was dry.”🌅

The sun will set at 5:12 pm with dusk around 5:41 pm, which is one minute and 19 seconds later than yesterday.🌄  At sunset, look for partly cloudy conditions and 25 degrees. There will be a south-southwest breeze at 9 mph. Today will have 10 hours and 6 minutes of daytime, a decrease of 2 minutes and 26 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will have a chance of snow, mainly after 1am. โ„Cloudy, with a low of 22 degrees at 7pm. Seven degrees above normal. Maximum wind chill around 13 at 6pm; South wind 9 to 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible. In 2017, we had cloudy skies with some clearing in the early hours of the next day. It got down to 17 degrees. The record low of -13 occurred back in 1978.

The box of inexpensive Arduino Namo microcontrollers I ordered yesterday is expected to be delivered in today’s mail. I’m quite excited about that as it will allow me to finish up my clock project and start future projects. 📟 Before I can use them though, I will need to solder on header pins but I’m not that concerned about that as header pins tend to be fairly easy to solder. I’ve been practicing with my soldering kits I got from China lately. 🔬I’m not a soldering expert, but I can it done. Honestly, I prefer to work with easily removable Dupont Wires but a lot of inexpensive devices from China don’t come with header pins pre-installed. But that’s not a big deal.

I’m going out hiking this afternoon, probably just to Thacher Park OSI Parcel, 🌲then out to my parents house for Sunday dinner today due to the bad weather expected tomorrow. I’m thinking about holding off going shopping🍲🌽🍚🍏 until tomorrow, โ„just because I don’t think the roads will be that bad midday tomorrow with the mercury expected to reach the mid 30s. In the evening though it will turn back to snow and ice.

There are seven months until Labor Day😎 when the sun will be setting at 7:25 pm with dusk at 7:54 pm (Daylight Savings Time).
