Good afternoon! Partly sunny and 73 degrees in Stratford. There is a north-northwest breeze at 8 mph. The dew point is 50 degrees. Somewhat of a hazy and gray day with the high clouds, even if not a terrible afternoon weather wise.

This afternoon I hiked back to Spectacle Lake then up to Good Luck Cliffs. It’s been years since I’ve been up here. Forgot my fishing pole in the truck but I’m still enjoying my leisurely walking through the woods. Camping over at Piseco-Powley Road.

The sun will set at 7:42 pm with dusk around 8:12 pm, which is one minute and 40 seconds earlier than yesterday. At sunset, look for mostly clear conditions and 68 degrees. The dew point will be 50 degrees. There will be a calm wind.

Tonight will be mostly clear, with a low of 52 degrees at 5am. 14 degrees below normal. Northwest wind 5 to 7 mph becoming light and variable after midnight. In 2016, we had mostly clear skies. It got down to 62 degrees. The record low of 41 occurred back in 1969.

Tonight will have a Waxing Crescent Moon with 39% illuminated, setting at 11:01 pm. The moon will rise tomorrow at 1:14 pm. The First Quarter Moon is on Monday night with partly cloudy skies. The Harvest Moon is on Tuesday, September 5th. The sun will rise at 6:17 am with the first light at 5:48 am, which is one minute and 6 seconds later than yesterday. Tonight will have 10 hours and 35 minutes of darkness, an increase of 2 minutes and 45 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will be sunny, with a high of 75 degrees at 2pm. Seven degrees below normal. Maximum dew point of 51 at 8am. Light and variable wind becoming east around 5 mph in the morning. A year ago, we had mostly cloudy skies, clearing in the afternoon. It was humid. The high last year was 86 degrees. The record high of 97 was set in 1948.

In four weeks on September 23 the sun will be setting at 6:53 pm, which is 49 minutes and 42 seconds earlier then today. In 2016 on that day, we had rain, partly cloudy skies and temperatures between 75 and 54 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 69 and 49 degrees.
