Good evening! Mostly cloudy and 60.3 degrees in Dormansville, according to my parents weather station that is ten feet from my truck. There is a west breeze at 6 mph. The dew point is 51 degrees. The skies will clear around 11 pm.

I thought I had a good weekend, got some mud on and in my truck, and didn’t get that bad of a sunburn laying in the sun at the Mine Kill Pool. I always enjoy going out to Schoharie County, in part because I don’t have to deal with the traffic by taking the back roads, and on such a nice weather weekend, the mountains were lush and green. Plus I got lots of fresh strawberries from Bohringers, so I’m not complaining at all. Did lose a lure in the Bleheniem Reservior, but shit like that always happens. So go figure.

Probably my only complaint was the weekend wasn’t longer. But heck, I’m leaving Friday for Moose River Plains for the long Independence Day Weekend, so I can’t complain too much. I’m sleeping my truck tonight, but then it’s a few days back at home, then it’s off to Moose River Plains. Assuming we have good weaether, I am looking forward to camping at Moose.

Tonight will have a chance of showers and thunderstorms before midnight, then a slight chance of rain between midnight and 2am. Partly cloudy, with a low of 52 degrees at 4am. Eight degrees below normal. Maximum dew point of 51 at 10pm. West wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. In 2016, it got down to 65 degrees with mostly cloudy skies. The record low of 39 occurred back in 1979.

Waxing Crescent Moon tonight with 15% illuminated. The moon will set around 11:10 pm. The First Quarter Moon is on Saturday night with chance of showers expected. The Full “Buck” Moon is in 2 weeks. The sun will rise at 5:22 am with the first light at 4:47 am, which is 22 seconds later than yesterday. Tonight will have 8 hours and 43 minutes of darkness, an increase of 21 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will have a chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after noon. Some of the storms could produce small hail and gusty winds. Partly sunny, with a high of 69 degrees at 3pm. 12 degrees below normal. Maximum dew point of 52 at 8am. West wind 6 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. A year ago, we had mostly cloudy skies and a high of 90 degrees. The record high of 99 was set in 1952.

The long range doesn’t look that great for next weekend. Major bummer! Next Saturday, a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 81. Chance of precipitation is 50%. Maximum dew point of 68 at 2pm. Next Sunday, a chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 74. Chance of precipitation is 40%. Maximum dew point of 62 at 6am. Typical average high for the weekend is 81 degrees.

In four weeks on July 23 the sun will be setting at 8:26 pm, which is 12 minutes and 47 seconds earlier then tonight. In 2016 on that day, we had thunderstorm, rain, mostly cloudy skies and temperatures between 91 and 65 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 83 and 62 degrees. The record high of 96 degrees was set back in 1955.

Looking ahead, Buck Moon is in 2 weeks, National Cheese Cake Day is in 5 weeks, 7 PM Sunset is in 12 weeks, More Night Then Day in Albany is in 3 months, Average High is 60 is in 16 weeks, Daylight Savings Time Ends is in 19 weeks, Cold Moon is in 23 weeks, Christmas is in 6 months and New Years Eve is in 27 weeks.

Mini Inverter

While I have the big inverter in the cab of my truck, I picked up this $20 mini 75-watt inverter that I can use in any of the 12 volt outlets in my truck, so I don't have to run a cord back to my truck cap when I'm using something that is only a small, non-delicate load. I don't think I would dare plug anything valuable or too electronic into it, because I'm sure the output is rather harsh and dirty.
