February 28, 2017 Night

Good evening! Sitting in bed watching Trump’s address to the nation. I’d sit outside but it’s starting to rain and I’m interested in what the president is talking about and his policies. I constantly watch Trump and while I disagree with many but not all of his policies, I do find something so interesting and attractive about the man. I even considered voting for him, until I decided on Jill Stein as my candidate for president. It would have been neat though had Hillary been elected our first woman president.

Feeling somewhat better now after taking some sinus medication and a good dinner. Earlier though I was super congested with a headache and a sore face. This sinus medication I got from Shoprite works great.

Trump Aims To ‘Eliminate’ Clean Water Rule

"President Trump signed documents Tuesday directing the Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to review the Obama administration's "Waters of the United States" rule. In doing so, Trump said he is "paving the way for the elimination" of the rule."

"Supporters say the regulation is needed to ensure safe drinking water. But a long list of opponents say it goes too far and poses a burden on them. The rule is currently on hold after a stay by the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals."

"It was a massive power grab," Trump said as he prepared to sign the documents, surrounded by a group of farmers, homebuilders and county commissioners. "Regulations and permits started treating our wonderful small farmers and small businesses as if they were a major industrial polluter. They treated them horribly."

I think I have a bit of a a cold, at least I’m somewhat congested this morning. I’m not sure if I should have skipped the coffee this morning, indeed I reheated some and went to the store but then ended up having orange juice instead with the eggs.

The sun will set at 5:44 pm with dusk around 6:13 pm, which is 1 minutes and 14 seconds later than yesterday. Today will have 11 hours and 14 minutes of daylight, an increase of 1 minutes and 51 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will have a chance of rain. Cloudy, with a low of 50 degrees at 9pm. 29 degrees above normal. South wind 8 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible. In 2016, it got down to 21 degrees with periods of rain. The record low of -9 occurred back in 1948.

Yesterday I went to Rezsin’s house in the city and folded Pine Bush newsletters for about an hour. I wouldn’t have driven downtown but I wanted to get my truck washed but the nine foot bay is still closed. That sucks. I guess I will have to wait until the weekend now.

As previously noted, there are 3 weeks until Spring when the sun will be setting at 7:09 pm with dusk at 7:37 pm (Daylight Savings Time). On that day in 2016, we had snow and temperatures between 46 and 32 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 46 degrees. We hit a record high of 78 back in 1921.

While yesterday I left a few windows open, I decided today would be too cold for doing that. I did however do that yesterday. I’m hoping spring will come shortly.

I look forward toΒ hearing the president’s annual speech tonight.Β I know we’ve hard previews of what he going to say, but I would like to hear more details to be sure. I like the idea that he has of shrinking government, but I also think shrinking law enforcement and military should be part of the idea. In an era of declining crime, and no major wars or terrorist attacks, it doesn’t make sense to be spending so much borrowed money. There is just too much government, and it needs to be shrunk at all levels.
