February 24, 2017 Morning

“Up every mornin’ just to keep a job
I gotta fight my way through the husslin’ mob
Sounds of the city poundin’ in my brain
While another day goes down the drain”Β

Good morning! Happy, Happy Friday! It will be the five o’clock world before you know it. Three weeks to St. Patrick’s Day.Β It’s cloudy but warm at 44 degrees in Delmar, NY. Calm wind. The skies will clear tomorrow around 11 pm. And it will get somewhat colder, although a few degrees above normal.

We have another day of record breaking warmth on tap. Today will have a chance of showers and thunderstorms before 3pm, then a slight chance of showers between 3pm and 4pm. Patchy fog before 9am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high of 67 degrees at 3pm. 30 degrees above normal. Maximum dew point of 53 at 3pm. Light and variable wind becoming south 8 to 13 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. A year ago, we had rain, snow, thunderstorm and a high of 44 degrees. The record high of 65 was set in 1985. 8 inches of snow fell back in 1962.

While it really didn’t get too cold last night, I did close the window to keep down the road noise. It wasn’t too bad but not summer for sure. I don’t have many of the windows that I can open without putting in the screens.

Last night I sat out back and watched the sun set from the tailgate of my pickup truck then hiked down to the library and played on the WiFi for a while. Came home, stopped at Stewart’s, bought milk, then sat out back again on the tailgate and watched the stars up above. It was still 55 degrees when I retired to bed. I can’t wait until I get out camping again.
