Happy Long New Years Eve Weekend! Partly cloudy and 30 degrees in Delmar. There is a west-northwest breeze at 11 mph. The skies will clear tomorrow around noontime.

Tonight will be scattered snow showers, mainly before 11pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low of 22 degrees at 4am. Six degrees above normal. West wind 5 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible. In 2015, it got down to 37 degrees with periods of rain. The record low of -17 occurred back in 1917.

Tomorrow which is New Years Eve, we will have a chance of snow, mainly after 3pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high of 33 degrees at 2pm. One degree above normal. South wind 5 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible. A year ago, we had rain and a high of 43 degrees. The record high of 61 was set in 1895. 7.9 inches of snow fell back in 2007.

While NYE will not be perfect, New Year’s Day will be mostly sunny, with a high of 39 degrees at 2pm. Eight degrees above normal. West wind 6 to 9 mph. And for the Monday after New Years Day, we will have a chance of rain and sleet after 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high of 34 degrees at 4pm.

Waxing Crescent Moon tonight with 13% illuminated. Might be able to see it in a clearing in the clouds this evening. The moon will set around 8:10 pm. The First Quarter Moon is on Wednesday night with partly cloudy skies expected. The Full β€œWolf” Moon is on Wednesday night. The sun will rise at 7:25 am with the first light at 6:53 am, which is 8 seconds later then yesterday.

In four weeks on January 27 the sun will be setting at 5:03 pm, which is 31 minutes later then tonight. In 2016 on that day, we had partly cloudy skies and temperatures between 44 and 20 degrees.
