Good evening! Rain and 73 degrees in North Syracuse. Rain is good. My truck is covered in dust and mud, and we are in a drought. There is a south breeze at 11 mph. The dew point is 64 degrees. The skies will clear Monday around 10 am. The rain held off for a while except for a brief shower but it was quite dreary out for most of the afternoon.

While the morning was quite nice, the afternoon was so humid and damp that you never knew when the next downpour would occur. Thought about visiting the Syracuse Gun Show but that didn’t happen because the admission price was $7 and it was the other side of town at the fairgrounds. I still kind of want to buy the 30-06, I’ve been thinking about getting, and I’m thinking I could get a better quality deer rifle for less money used. But I was lazy. Maybe I should have just gotten that Remington 783 I looked at in August on sale but was sacred off by some of the reviews. Otherwise, generally a pretty quite Saturday, spent some time tweaking some code on the blog. Hoping to do some hiking and fishing tomorrow but only if the weather is decent.

Also been thinking about my next big road trip to West Virginia and Virginia. This will be later in the year than last one, mostly due to my schedule. But still the Blue Ridge Parkway will be beautiful. Or maybe I’ll instead focus on Western New York and Pennsylvania. I guess it depends on my mood.

Tonight will have showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 1am. Warm and rainy night  with a low of 67 degrees at 6am. Maximum dew point of 66 at 2am. South wind 10 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Tomorrow will have showers likely, with thunderstorms also possible after 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high of 79 degrees at 2pm. Maximum dew point of 67 at 9am. Southwest wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

The sun will rise at 6:47 am with the first light at 6:19 am, which is 1 minutes and 6 seconds later then yesterday.

Looking ahead, First Day with Average High Below 70 is in 1 week, October 1st is in 2 weeks, Make a Difference Day is in 5 weeks and New Years Eve is in 15 weeks.

At sunset, look for cloudy conditions with thunderstorms and rain rolling through, around 76 degrees. The dew point will be 64 degrees. There will be a south breeze at 11 mph.

The sun will set at 7:09 pm with dusk around 7:37 pm, which is 1 minutes and 49 seconds earlier than yesterday.

Waning Gibbous Moon tonight with 89% illuminated. The moon will rise around 7:22 pm. The Last Quarter Moon is on Friday at 9:56 am with scattered showers expected. The Full “Hunter” Moon is on Sunday, October 16th at 4:23 am.

Good morning! Happy Saturday. Not a half bad, partly sunny and 65 degrees in North Syracuse. There is a south-southeast breeze at 8 mph. The dew point is 55 degrees. A pretty nice morning but the clouds are working there way in for afternoon. i think we may get rain, at least in Central New York come Sunday. Which is disappointing, as I was hoping to head over to Jones Hill for hiking on Sunday. Maybe Sunday won’t be a complete washout. We will see.

Today will have a slight chance of showers, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high of 80 degrees at 3pm. Maximum dew point of 65 at 6pm. South wind 8 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. The record high of 89 was set in 1942. The sun will set at 7:09 pm with dusk around 7:37 pm, which is 1 minutes and 49 seconds earlier than yesterday. Today will have 12 hours and 21 minutes of daylight, a decrease of 2 minutes and 55 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will have showers and thunderstorms likely, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 9pm. Low around 67, with a low of 67 degrees at 5am. 16 degrees above normal. Maximum dew point of 66 at 11pm. South wind around 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible. Could be a fairly wet evening into the morning.

There are 1 weeks until First Day with Average High Below 70 in Albany when the sun will be setting at 6:56 pm with dusk at 7:24 pm. The average high temperature is 69 degrees, with a record high of 87 in 1961. Autumn certainly comes fast, but that also means that
