July 19, 2016 Night

Good evening! Clear and 54 degrees in Brookfield. Nice night out tonight but a bit chilly. I almost wish I had a campfire. There is a northwest breeze at 9 mph. The dew point is 50 degrees.

The drive out here was beautiful. I was a bit tired and was running low on daylight but I sure loved those scenic beauty of a midsummer evening.

I was listening to the Republican convention for a while but I’ve quickly lost interest and turned it off. I’m a life long Democrat but neither party has much appeal to me.  I probably will retire to bed in the bed of my pickup truck shortly and then will put it back on to put myself to sleep with. I still have to work tomorrow so I really can’t stay up all night.

Tonight will be mostly clear, with a low of 53 degrees at 5am. Nine degrees below normal. West wind 5 to 9 mph. Maximum dew point of 51 at 9pm. The record low of 49 occurred back in 1974.

Full moon tonight. It’s the Buck Moon and it’s quite beautiful on this clear night. Certainly not a dark evening in the wilderness.

Tomorrow will be sunny, with a high of 75 degrees at 3pm. Eight degrees below normal. Calm wind becoming northwest 5 to 8 mph in the afternoon. Maximum dew point of 52 at 10am. The record high of 97 was set in 1991. The sun will rise at 5:41 am with the first light at 5:08 am, which is 55 seconds later then yesterday.

Assuming I get done with work at a reasonable hour tomorrow but too late for the Save the Pine Bush organizational meeting, I’m going to try to hit up a fishing hole or two on the way home.

0.4 inch of rain expected between Friday 2am and Saturday 7am. Within the next four days, a total of 0.4 inches of rain is expected. We have some muggy weather coming up. Friday 10am – Saturday 12am. July 19, 2016 Evening

Good evening! Partly sunny and 79 degrees in Albany, NY. There is a northwest breeze at 13 mph. The dew point is 48 degrees. Needless to say, the air is pretty dry without a drop of a humidity.

I had to run back to the office with some paperwork, but fortunately the express bus was running late, so I had time and was able to catch the next local bus home. Heading out camping tonight, so I don’t have to get up so early tomorrow for my 9 am meeting.

Tonight will be partly cloudy, with a low of 57 degrees at 4am. A fairly cold night on tap. Seven degrees below normal. Northwest wind 6 to 11 mph becoming light in the evening. Maximum dew point of 53 at 2am. I hope I don’t freeze my ass off tonight camping. The record low of 49 occurred back in 1974. The sun will set at 8:27 pm with dusk around 9:00 pm, which is 48 seconds earlier than yesterday. The Full “Buck” Moon is tonight. The moon will rise around 7:57 pm.

July 19, 2016 9 AM Update

I don’t understand whyΒ people have to tailgate. This morning when I was walking down to the bus stop, I was waiting to cross at one of the unsignalized crosswalks and the first car in a line of cars stopped rather quickly for me.

The following car had to slam on his or her brakes because she was tailgating. We all are distracted drivers — and sometimes traffic stops quickly in front of you. While people are quick to condemn using a cellphone while driving, we all look out out window to see the scenery, pretty women, interesting looking cows and tractors, and so many other distractions, like adjusting our radios.

People really should maintain a safe distance between cars, especially when it’s so easy to be a distracted driver.
