Good evening. 49 degrees under clear skies up here in Perkins Clearing. Decent evening, but I wish I could have gotten a campsite on the lake where I would have had better cell service. Cool enough that I hooked up the propane heater and put it under the chair. I wasn’t planning on using the heater in the summer months but I had the propane for the stove and lantern, so I figured bring it rather than being cold.

Good morning! Yeah, it’s Friday! Currently mostly sunny and 59 degrees in Delmar. There is a west-northwest breeze at 5 mph. Definately a cool start to end our week.

Sunny and cool for today. We will be Sunny, with a high near 70. Northwest wind 9 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph. The normal high for today is 77, so it will be about normal for this time of year. The record high of 96 happened back in 2008.

Tonight the sun will set at 8:33 pm with dusk around 9:07 pm, which is 32 seconds later than yesterday. Today will have 15 hours and 15 minutes of daylight, an increase of 40 seconds over yesterday.

Mostly clear and cool tonight. There will be a low around 48. West wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm after midnight. The normal low for tonight is 55, so it will be about seven degrees above normal. The record low of 36 occurred back in 1980.

On this day in 1964, United States Senate breaks a 75-day filibuster against the Civil Rights Act of 1964, leading to the bill’s passage.

There are 1 weeks until Eat Your Vegetables Day when the sun will be setting at 8:36 pm with dusk at 9:10 pm. The average high temperature is 79 degrees, with a record high of 94 in 1994.

I’m packed and ready to head out to the Adirondacks this afternoon. I ended up grabbing the propane heater, as I think later tonight into tomorrow morning will be fairly cool — and I also brought a sweater and my hoodie.
