May 3, 2016 Night

Heading into the 11 o’clock hour we are at 51 degrees under cloudy skies. We had a rain shower a while back. A low tonight around 47. Continued cool and cloudy tomorrow with a high around 58. Rain showers throughout the day with the best chance of rain in the afternoon.

May 3, 2016 Evening

Good evening. 56 degrees and cloudy this evening. That’s the high for today on this dark afternoon. Kind of a busy but dull day for sure. It seems like through the end of the work week we will be stuck in this cloudy pattern.

It looks like they have converted the Ghetto Chopper Downtown into the Market 32 by Ghetto Chopper. Despite the new branding I suspect city residents still get inferior products at their local market. Most people I know in the city go out to the suburbs to buy groceries. On a similar note, I noticed that the Big M Market in Morrisville has finally succumbed to TOPS in Cazenovia, driving through there on my road trip to the Finger Lakes. I heard Cazenovia is also getting an ALDI’s. Handy the next time I camp at Stoney Pond.

Speaking of which, I have to visit Shoprite later on to buy groceries. There are a few things that I forgot to buy on Sunday.

May 3, 2016 9 AM Update

It’s May 3rd and increasingly greening up in the city. In a few weeks green will take over the landscape. Spring will arrive with the damp and somewhat rainy conditions helping to jump start the process. Gray with a high around 60 today.

Today in 1973, The 108-storyΒ Sears TowerΒ in Chicago is topped out at 1,451 feet as the world’s tallest building.

Happy Birthday to James Brown, Frankie Valli of the Four Seasons, Pete Staples of the Troggs. I guess it’s a big birthday party for those who like listening to the oldies station.

I am still recovering from vacation. It is really hard to get back into the groove after a nice vacation. That stylus really kicks you in the can.

I don’t have any real plans for the weekend but I am monitoring the weather situation. I really have things that need to get done in the city, so I’ll probably just stay in town.
