March 5, 2016 Morning

Good morning! Happy Saturday. Finally the weekend! Currently partly sunny and 21 degrees with a 6 mph north-northwest winds. A nice morning for sure but a bit cold.

Today will have increasing clouds, with a high near 37. North wind around 6 mph. That’s a about 3 degrees below normal for this time of year. In 1964, it got up to 71 degrees. Certainly it won’t get that warm today.

Tonight the sun will set at 5:50 pm with darkness around 6:18 pm, which is 1 minutes and 13 seconds later than yesterday. Today will have 11 hours and 29 minutes of daylight, an increase of 2 minutes and 53 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 21. Light north wind.

Today in 1970, the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty goes into effect after ratification by 43 nations.

There are 2 months until Cinco de Mayo when the sun will be setting at 8:00 pm (Daylight Savings Time).

Decided against going camping today. It’s a lot of work to get gear packed and unpacked for just one night. After next weekend the time changes and we have much longer evenings. At some point it will warm up and daylight savings time starts a week from tonight. When it’s warm, one needs a lot less gear in the wilderness.

I’m not in the mood to fire up Big Red today, but I am thinking of taking a morning walk out to Five Rivers Environmental Education Center and going for a stroll around the grounds. That would take up most of the morning. Maybe in the afternoon, go down to the library. By then, it’s expected to cloud up. Better weather expected for Sunday.

Enjoy your day!
