December 4, 2015 night

Good evening. Currently 34 degrees with a modest breeze but it’s nice and warm and cozy in the tent. 29 degrees later and clear. Sunrise is expected around 7:15 AM. Sunny and 43 degrees tomorrow.

It’s was a dark and dreary drive out here but I made it out before dark by leaving work at 2 PM. I usually like the drive on US 20 but it wasn’t that nice with the clouds and rain showers. Set up in the dark but I had lights and had a nice campfire for a little over three hours. But then I got tired and decided to retire to a nice warm tent.

Tomorrow should be a nice day and a great weekend.Β

December 4, 2015 mid-day

Good morning. Busy day today.Β Currently 44 degrees and cloudy. This afternoon will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 46. West wind 8 to 10 mph.Β Sunset tonight is at 4:21 PM. Clearing later, looking for a low around freezing in Albany tonight. Going to be a nice weekend, mild in the mid to upper 40s and sunny. Somewhat unusual for the first week of December but I expect.

I’m leaving work at 2 PM to head out to Cherry Ridge at Charles Baker State Forest for some camping and actually spending some bonafide time in the woods hunting, in more open and mixed landscape in Southern Zone. I actually had to look around a bit for my backtag, as I haven’t spend much time in the Southern Zone this year. I might visit a state park or two while I’m up there. I’m shocked that there is no snow or very little this year, but so be it. Two nights with campfires in the woods and not too cold. Not bad, even if the nights are pretty long. I’ll buy wood so I’m not running around on my way out. US Route 20 is always a pretty drive.
