Good afternoon. Currently 39 degrees and cloudy. Surprisingly for the most part we have missed the rain in Albany, despite the north country getting pelleted with freezing rain and a lot more rain falling in the Hudson Valley. Scattered showers before midnight, then periods of rain, mainly after midnight. Low near constant, around 38. South wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Traffic is really backed up on Interstate 787 tonight. The drizzle isn’t helping. I’m sure traffic will get moving again soon and I will be home.

After a tough couple of days, I have some good news. I finally got the PostGIS server working on my laptop. I am in the process of restoring the various databases but it going well. I think I will be fully back in the map making business come the end of the week. I was super annoyed about had all my mapping software broke with the distribution update – but at least I’ll have updated mapping data.

The weekend forecast continues to look quite nice. Not totally sure where I will go but if I can get out of town all the weekend all the better.

Whalen Memorial State Forest, also known as Chautauqua #11, totals 1,325 acres. It is located in the southwestern area of Chautauqua County in the towns of North Harmony and Sherman, north of the village of Panama. The forest includes habitats for various wildlife species such as deer, rabbit, grouse and turkey. It provides opportunities for many informal outdoor recreational activities such as cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, hiking and hunting. This area is also a source of raw material for New York's forest products industry, which provides employment and income for many New Yorkers.

Good morning. Happy December. Already the final month of the year. It looks like we will be missing the freezing rain this morning with temperatures already at 33 degrees and a warm air loft pushing the mercury up. A Freezing Rain Advisory remains in effect through noontime but I think it will mostly impact the higher elevations at this point.

Certainly a gray morning as is common this time of year. So be it. Another work day as the weekend gets closer. It will be summer before you know it. That said, I am planning for many adventures come the winter.

Later today look for rain. High near 40. Southeast wind 5 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible. More rain tonight. Steady temperatures. Low around 39. Southeast wind 3 to 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible. Sunset around 4:23 PM.

Landlord was unpleasant about my request for written documentation on his loss but so be it. A big part of being an adult is dealing with unpleasant people who need to be reminded of grim realities or at least their legal responsibility. Even if the insurance doesn’t the cover I feel it’s important to cover my ass against future claims. I don’t care, I like my cheap apartment on the bus line in the suburbs. I eventually do want to own land but it sure is convenient.
