September 22, 2015 evening

51 degrees and clear this evening. Half moon tonight, setting at 12:30. Getting down to 47. Tomorrow will be mostly sunny, 77 degrees. Not a half bad day for the first day autumn.

Today became a nice day for the last day of summer but the morning was so dreary. After a nice weekend it was tough going back to work. But at least the short cold I got on Sunday is mostly  over at this point. Hiked around the trails at Swift Wetland Preserve than hiked, then down to the library, and the evening walk around the superblock that makes up the school for a combined total of 5 miles. Felt good after my ankle sprain.

September 22, 2015 evening

At the 5 o’clock commute hour, we are at 69 degrees and partly sunny. Nice evening, look for sunset around 6:50 PM.

There is 11:50 of night tonight and 12:10 of daylight tomorrow. While on paper the first day of fall the length of day should be 12 hours, the way the sun interacts with the atmosphere makes the sun rise and set later a little earlier and later than one would expect. September 26th will be the first night that is longer than day.

Traffic is moving slowly heading out of Albany. It’s Rush Hour but nobody seems to be in a rush getting out of the city, either heading northbound or southbound on 787. If you’re stuck in traffic, just be glad you’re out of work for the day on this last day of summer. It’s the daily grind. Can’t do anything about it.

At this point it’s tough to get down to the park after work, but I still might go down to the park. I can stay for a while after dark and it’s a nice walk. I don’t necessarily want to go to the library tonight. One of these days I need to go to Glenmont Car Wash and clean the mud off my truck. I also need to vacuum out my truck and clean off the interior of the windshield.
