August 9, 2015 evening

Good evening, as this weekend rapidly fades into memory. It is 75 degrees in Westerlo, with the dew point a comfortable 57 degrees. Keep your eyes pealed to the sky tonight, as we expect some pretty good meteorite showers in next few days, although the best of the Perseid meteorite shower is expected on Wednesday the 12th. Onward to mid-August. The clock is rapidly ticking away on endless summer.

Tomorrow will be 84 degrees and sunny with modest humidity, with dew points looking around 61 degrees. More humidity and thunderstorms for Tuesday and Wednesday. Different models suggest that we might either get some much needed rain (up to one inch), or just a lot of humidity and occasional pop up thunderstorms. It sure was dusty when I headed out from my apartment this afternoon and kicked up some dust with the pickup on the driveway on the way out.

It was a nice quiet weekend, even though things didn’t always go right on plan, things that needed to get done got done.Β The kitchen and apartment got cleaned up, all the camping gear was put away. I got the oil change done, once I got the filter off. I had to go back twice to Walmart to get the replacement SD card for my phone, but that’s in it. I still have to move most of my music onto it, but I will probably just stick the SD card into my laptop and let it copy when I am I work. The new fuse, is allowing the accessory battery in the truck to charge, and it’s mostly charged at this point.Β Β I fixed the truck cap with the rivet gun, after I figured out how to remove the support from the gas piston that holds up the glass in the truck cap, and then drilled out the rivet after riveting it on backwards. But it seems to work okay.

Tommorow is onwards to Monday.Β Mid-week looks crappy, but hopefully I will get some time down at the park reading tomorrow night. It’s getting tough with the early sunsets, but once it gets dark, I will hang out there for a while with my laptop and/or phone, and play on the internet until it gets late. Assuming that nothing comes up in the mean-time. But the days are rapidly getting shorter, so if I want to check the internet after work, I will have to start heading back down to the public library. But I don’t fear fall. It will be hunting season, and the fall colors are always delightful.

Next weekend hoping to get to Southern Adirondacks.Β At least that’s what I’m leaning too. Schoharie County is a possibility, but I’m leaning more towards heading up to Wells. Possibly camp in Whitehouse, along NY 8 or maybe up on Hope Falls Road. A lot will depend on the weather. It would be nice to have a campfire and maybe shoot some guns, and just relax in the woods.

Well sleep well folks. We all have a big long work week upon us once again.

Shorter days

Have you noticed how fast the daylight is dropping in the evenings now? Sunset occurs nearly 2 1/2 minutes earlier each day. The length of day shortens at an accelerating rate as fall approaches.
