July 23, 2015 evening

Good evening. 63 degrees and clear. Crickets are out and chirping but as far as I can tell, only one firefly is out – too cold and dry. Stars are out and generally pleasant but another relatively cool evening for July is expected.

Tomorrow, look for 81 degrees and more humid in the afternoon. Thunderstorms are possible. Going to warm up for the weekend, and possibly hit 90 degrees by mid next week. Don’t count on fall yet, despite pleasant evenings of recent.
Went down to the Candlelight Vigil for a Cleaner Hudson River this evening. Beautiful evening and a nice turn out. Good to see a lot of people and not just the regular Albany progressive crowd. The event got some local news coverage, maybe I’ll be in a background shot of YNN cable news. Who knows.

Did some minor cleaning and packing for my trip. I still have my camping gear out in bedroom, so the main thing to do tommorow night us visit the laundromat and then pack clothes. Also want to stop by the library and get more books to read, and a few groceries. Fill the water jugs, and get everything else ready for a fairly early start on Saturday.

I’m tired, so I’m off to bed. Should be good sleeping with these pleasant weather conditions. Good night!

A Love Story.

Overpasses: A Love Story.

Figuring the Interstate Highway system and mass-motoring probably has twenty years before cheap oil runs out for good, it doesn't seem wise to be making investments in incredibly complex superhighways.
