June 5, 2015 evening

This evening has me wishing I got out of town this weekend. This evening is 67 degrees and clear now that it’s dark out.

The entire weekend isn’t expected to be real warm but it will be sunny. Mid 70s in the city and upper 60s in the Adirondacks.

There is still a lot of summer ahead I tell myself. I hope I’m right about that. This weekend for a lot of reasons wouldn’t have worked well for getting out of town.

Solar power makes a lot of sense on roof tops -- it helps shade and cool buildings, and puts the solar cells in a better angle for unobstructed sun. Solar roadways, in contrast, have all the disadvantages.

Solar panels are very sensitive to shade and angle to the sun -- in my personal experience with my solar panel. To say nothing of heat. I can't understand why anybody would have proposed the solar roadway idea in the first place. It just doesn't make much sense.

At the 9 o’clock hour we are at about sixty with clouds. Rain showers are heading our way. Clearing out for Saturday and Sunday with temperatures in the mid-70s in the city.

Still chewing over my weekend plans. Maybe go out fishing somewheres. Maybe go for a paddle. It also would be nice weather for hiking. Maybe North-South Lake in the Catskills? Or maybe I’ll stay local.

I am hoping that the spare tire comes in Big Red so I can figure out how to mount it in the truck bed. I have already picked a location, it’s just a matter of adjusting the shelf to make sure it fits properly.
