April 24, 2015 evening

Another cold evening on tap, with weather expected to drop to we’ll below freezing tonight. Currently 37 degrees with a wind, expected to drop another ten degrees before daybreak.

Tomorrow will be warmer and sunny but below average weather is expected through out the weekend. Tomorrow’s high – for April 25th – will struggle to reach the high 50s.

My phone is still crashing a lot but it seems like it’s recovering slowly. I’m hopeful, as I really don’t want to have to buy a new phone. I know somebody who will never try to adjust playback speed again on his Android.

Second to Last Friday in April

Good Morning, Happy Friday. The chilly weather of recent continues today, with highs only reaching the upper 40s or maybe low 50s at the most. Last night reached 25 degrees and we had snow showers, with minor accumulations up in the mountains. Tomorrow and Sunday are expected only to get up to around 55 degrees or so. It’s about 7-8 degrees below normal as the artic blast that has had our region in it’s grips in recent months continues.

Despite the cold, in the city spring is showing its signs. Winter has to be biting the dust. Green is rapidly spreading, and while most of the trees still lack leaves, you can still see the grass greening up, and some of the smaller trees, especially on the plaza budding up. Last night’s frost probably retarded things up a bit, but spring is coming.

Staying In Town This Weekend. I will probably get up early tomorrow and get a haircut, then head over to Schenectady to talk to the shop about getting my truck re-geared, assuming they’re open on Saturday morning. Then I will go to the Albany Pine Bush for a bit, and after lunch head up to Latham to look at turkey hunting gear, turkey loads, and turkey calls. I’m not totally sure if I’m going to do spring turkey, despite buying the permit last fall. A lot depends on the weather and how much thing all ends up costing, as I don’t really have much for turkey hunting besides a shotgun.

My cellphone still ain’t working. God I hate technology and material stuff at times. All the nice toys in this world always seems to break down, get stolen, or damaged by errant drivers. But it’s so much fun. I have only had a Smartphone for a little over a half of a year, but without it I feel so lost. I am stilling dealing with that bug regarding β€œplayback speed” which causes the memory to get corrupted and things crashing, randomly, repeatly. Eventually, if it’s like last time, the corrupted memory will get cleaned out, and stability will return, but in the meantime, it’s frustrating as all hell.

To make matters worst, I accidentally inserted the MicroSD backwards in the phone, while I was reinstalling. It promptly got stuck, and I had to drive to Lowes to get a pair of pliers to remove it. Trying to remove the card, I managed to smash the card, rendering it useless. So then I had to drive back to Walmart to get a new SD Card. I am hoping at least the phone comes back to working, after I get the corrupt blocks isolated in memory, after enough use. I use the phone for music and so many other purposes like BusTime, blog updates and social media, and I sure miss not having it working.

I know most people by now would have used their cellphone for target practice then tossed it in the burn pile, but I live in the city, not to mention, I’m determined to get it working, so I don’t have to pay $150 or whatever it costs to replace it. I guess I could get a nicer phone, and maybe one that’s not such a lemon but I really think the phone isn’t dead for good.

At least I’m sleeping better …Β I had a lot of trouble getting to sleep this past winter, taking sleeping pills have the time. But since I’ve gotten out camping and spent some time in the woods, I’ve been sleeping soundly most nights. I don’t know what made the difference, but I feel so much more refreshed each morning, and I’m soundly asleep by 9:30 or 10 PM most most nigths.
