Good Evening, Happy Saturday

I know, the rare Saturday evening blog post… Kind of a dull, fairly cold Saturday in January but that’s to be expected this time of year. Went to work for a bit, then to the gun show, then to the library.

Due to snowy roads and my laziness, ended up smashing down the well frozen trash rather than going to the transfer station. Hah. Next weekend, honest. The same with washing the salt off my truck.

After the snow it was a remarkably beautiful sunset with clearing skies and beauty rarely seen around here with the warmest weather in a while. The sunset is almost 5 p.m. now, and will be that late come Monday.

If it ever warms up and the Southern Adirondacks doesn’t get much more snow I will head out camping for a night. I sure get tired of being indoors and not having fires and shooting guns. Or maybe ice fishing and camping at Balsam Lake.

Spring will come I tell myself… The calendar insists it must warm up eventually. I certainly have been camping late March some years.

I sure look forward to longer spring evenings going down to the Elm Avenue Town Park with a book. Sure the sunset needs to set 2-3 hours later and the snow melt and ground dry, but few things give me the pleasure of reading in the park on a nice warm evening.
