Six Months Ago – July 12, 2014

Six months ago, was July 12, 2014. It was a fairly cloudy Saturday with oppressive heat and thunderstorms in the afternoon. The mercury reached an oppressive 85 degrees, with a heat index of 87. It was an oppressive day, with the dew point reaching a very oppressive, by Albany standards, 65 twice in the day. Thunderstorms would rattle around mid-day, but give little relief from the oppressive weather.

I remember working downtown that day, parking on the street. It was a Saturday, so I could get away with wearing shorts in the office. The air conditioning felt nice, until it was time to go home. Later in the evening, I went down to the Henry Hudson Park and did some fishing, which was a nice break from the heat.
