Road Salt …

I wonder how many more weeks it will before they start spreading satan’s dust on the roads, supposedly to counter the actions of old man winter ?Β I hate road salt.

Final Day of September

Good Morning! Happy Tuesday. Ended up driving down to the Park and Ride this fairly nice morning, because I didn’t get an early enough of a start. Could have taken the local to work, but I really like to avoid it these days. Yesterday, I did take the local to work, but I was running so late, that was my only choice if I wanted to avoid driving downtown.

Last night I got the peppers are cleaned up and frozen that I picked up at Shauls on Sunday. Only got a peck this year, because I didn’t want to bother with having to clean a full bushel up – to say nothing of the space they’ll take up in the freezer. I want to still have room to keep ice frozen in the freezer for when I go out camping throughout the fall season. One advantage of colder fall weather, is you don’t go through nearly as much ice.

Today is the last day of September, and tomorrow starts turkey and rabbit season, which goes on to mid-November, at least in the southeastern portion of the state. Probably won’t be doing much in the way of fall turkey hunting, as I still need to pick up some gear, but certainly I have a place in mind for spring turkey hunting in the Adirondacks, based on experience.

I wonder if we will get some rain today. The sun is peaking out this morning, but there are also a lot of clouds out. Today is supposed to be the last real warm day for a while. Then it’s back to normal October weather. This weekend doesn’t look real nice, but so be it. We had a real nice to weekend last weekend.
